To celebrate Women In Translation Month, I am prioritizing reading books in progress and make it through my physical TBR. Here are some books I plan to read this month/by the end of the year:

I also want to add that every single time ICE has physically hurt me, they have grabbed me by my chest. Most of my femme friends have said the same. I will not be surprised if / when we find out about twisted sexual assaults conducted by ICE agents with these gloves.

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social · 3d ago

Wow. Proponents of the ICE taser gloves are openly saying that one reason they love the gloves is that they doesn’t leave any marks or proof that they were used, making it harder for people to sue when they’re shocked excessively.

As an indie author without an agent or publicist (hopeful for that in the future), I just want to remind folks how tiring it can be to promote your work, even with supportive and enthusiastic publishers, which I am fortunate to have.

Thanks as always Gabino! I am booking in-person and virtual events for the Fall to share my two books, one poetry and one horror, out now! I'm coming to Seattle, Portland and the Bay area, so let me know if you'd like for me to do a reading, author talk, or workshop! 💞 leticiaaurieta.com/contact/

Friends, one of my most hopeful stories -- really! -- is in this anthology called Eat the Rich, which is open for pre-orders now. I'm so, so happy to see this out in the world. Oh, and in case you're squeamish about cannibalism: so am I! My angle is... very different. bookshop.org/p/books/eat-...
