LeToMaGiC-Zine
@letomagic.bsky.social
Letters To Marina Ginesta Coloma is a mini artzine about politics, beer, zine libraries & football - inspired by Subbuteo, 7'' cover art, Pixi Books & Slinkachu.
The Glasgow Zine Library has been on my list for #LeToMaGiC for years now. If you‘re able to do so, please help them to support their future. I would love to visit them one day! (I just donated the proceeds from the last issue myself.)
Archival material from minority communities: The Glasgow Zine Library, the largest independant UK zine library, has an urgent 2 week fundraiser to expand display & storage, which is now at capacity. Donations are doubled, but only if they hit their May 25th Goal www.youtube.com/watch?v=tb3n...
Last week, the first special issue of #LeToMaGiC was released as part of the *Minizine Mania* exhibition at @lofipublishing.bsky.social. The riso-printed issue 7b features explanations of all zine covers released to date, along with qr-codes linking to the music of the records that inspired them.

I had the joy to visit Southend-On-Sea for #LeToMaGic issue 8 last weekend. Roots Hall is a wonderful stadium - and thanks for the nice welcome in the lovely curated Grrrl Zine Library at The Old Waterworks nearby.
Thanks for covering #LeToMaGiC in this blog about fanzines and Subbuteo, @fanzinefc.bsky.social!
It’s Thursday and that can mean only one thing; a new blog is up. This week we talk about stadium design, pitch tampering, skulduggery, protest, planning and creativity, all of the things you’d expect to find in your average fanzine and game of Subbuteo. footballfanzineculture.blog/2026/02/26/f...
Last year @spiral-tat.bsky.social & @miketyl.bsky.social visited @ozdfest.bsky.social (not the fest, but the person and shop behind it) and bought these wonderful zines for me - thanks a lot! I hope, I manage to visit that magical place myself one day!
Three different views of 17-year old Marina Ginestà on top of Hotel Colon in Plaça Catalunya on 21 July 1936 staged and taken by German born Juan Guzmán, plus overview over all of Guzmán's photos of her, on the roof of Hotel Colón and in Bujalaruz, Aragón with Durruti and soviet journalist Koltsov.
Born #OnThisDay 29 Jan 1919 Marina Ginestà in Toulouse to politicised working class exiled Catalan parents. Family returned to Barcelona 1928, prewar communist youth and war. 1939 escaped Franco's Spain, exile in LatAm, later France, 1970s won Cat literary award for one of her novels. Died Paris2014
@altona93fanzines.bsky.social @letomagic.bsky.social Just dropped off a LeToMagic with Ru @ozdfest.bsky.social
Thanks to the people who compilated the Flatline issue 4 - in memoriam of our friend Christian! Thanks to @trauerundfussball.bsky.social for sending it to me & to @chrizmagic.bsky.social for pointing out the reprint of the interview Christian gave the Papercore #zine (mentioning LeToMaGiC in there).
I’ve been to Derry for #LeToMaGiC issue eight, too. I admired the murals, my favourite being the one for Nell McCafferty, was happy to receive a bottle cap from a brewing cooperative called Lacada in Portrush and enjoyed the hospitality at @derrycityfc.net.
I visited Dublin for #LeToMaGiC issue eight, but it seems like the famous #ForgottenZineArchive is no longer operating. Though the @marshslibrary.bsky.social has an even longer history. Footballwise it was a pleasure to watch the @shamrockrovers.ie women to win at home.
Hab hier rumgestickert.
No Fun At All, etc). Morgen endlich wieder Bayer. Manchmal fühlt es sich falsch an, ein privilegierter Mitteleuropäer zu sein. Hab nüscht zu meckern
I believe this is the only known use of Juan Guzman's famed Marina Ginestà photo during the Spanish Civil War itself, an image which has come this century to represent more than any other the revolutionary hopes of 1936. CP magazine Pasionaria, 23 October 1937. Via Gabriela Cladera, FB.
@letomagic.bsky.social @altona93fanzines.bsky.social well, it would be a shame to go to one of the pubs in the zine and not put a sticker up there wouldn't it?
I just received the first picture of a diy sticker from #LeToMaGiC issue 7. I‘m pretty much looking forward to your versions of this hand drawn sticker!
Handcut & handsewn - the seventh issue of my mini art #zine #LeToMaGiC is available now! This issue covers Great Yarmouth, Hull, Klaipėda, Kraków & Zürich. Do you know which record inspired the cover artwork of this issue? #DIYZines
The ‚handcut‘ bit for #LeToMaGiC issue 7 is finally done - now the ‚handcolour‘ and ‚handsew‘ bits are next. #DIYzines
It's Thursday so that can mean only one thing, a new blog is up now. This week we look at the links between football fanzines and Subbuteo. Yes, you read that right.. footballfanzineculture.blog/2025/07/03/f...
Fanzines and Subbuteo, the perfect match.
On the face of it, a bit of a niche fanzine blog this time; Subbuteo and fanzines. However, as we will see, the two have been strongly linked since the start of the golden (goalden? – Ed) era…

I just wrote about this shirt for the next @letomagic.bsky.social issue, it might play a role in the next @gidouille.bsky.social project and now I really enjoyed this free short film!

I‘m just curious, if I might be the first zine in the #DIYzines feed. I‘m looking forward to all the others who will join!
Handcut & handsewn - the sixth issue of my mini art #zine #LeToMaGiC is available now! The issues one to five are completely sold out, but you can read the first three issues online: issuu.com/letomagic

Let's remember Marina Ginestà. Died #OnThisDay 6 Jan 2014 in Paris. Born in Toulouse to politised working class migrant Catalan parents. Family returned to Barcelona 1928, prewar communist youth. 1939 escaped Franco Spain, exile in LatAm, later France, 1970s won Cat literary awards for novels.
I’ve been to Zürich for #LeToMaGiC issue seven, too. The brilliant K-Set #ZineLibrary exists more than twenty years now - and the Grasshoppers Club Zürich even longer. I also visited the Cabaret Voltaire, of course.
Hi @sluginkpress.bsky.social, I‘m going to visit Brighton from December 26th to January 1st. Do you have any hints for zine collections, exhibitions, concerts, libraries or other zine places?
And I’ve been to Kraków for #LeToMaGiC issue seven this year. As Garbarnia Kraków left the league last minute and the Kabel Kraków cup match was relocated to a pitch outside town, I visited Wisła in an European cup match. But I enjoyed exploring the Polish #ZineLibrary even more: www.zinelibrary.pl
