Do you study or watch a lot of Asian films? Then our CINEMAS OF ASIA series is probably for you!
We're publishing the first book in our groundbreaking CINEMAS OF ASIA series this fall. Books in this series offer a sustained study of a single film, like BFI's Film Classics. The first book, by series co-editor Andy Jackson, looks at Lee Kwang-mo’s 1998 film Spring in My Hometown (아름다운 시절).
We're also interested in films from global Asian diasporas. And I, for one, would love to see some proposals on Asian American cinema. Would gladly see someone pitch, say, Crazy Rich Asians or Eat a Bowl of Tea or The Oath of the Sword or The Curse of Quon Gwon. My inbox is always open!
We want to see pitches and proposal for films from all across Asia (East, South, Southeast, Central!), all time periods, all genres!
