As an immigrant in Alberta I'm feeling all the warm and fuzzies right now from the provincial govt. Nice to hear what they think of me and all the other immigrants contributing to Albertas economy (and paying taxes).

It's the last day at #TWS2025 but we've got a pretty good finale lined up. ✔️more efficient grizzly bear monitoring ✔️what's influencing moose population size and trends ✔️where are the moose and where are they going?

Sad to hear about the passing of Dr Markland - he was such a strong, compassionate, and honest voice from the front lines of healthcare in our province. Thoughts are with his family and loved ones.

Late last fall, we sent over 1000 hair samples – a year of hard work by the grizzly bear team – to the lab. But we were holding our breath for one sample in particular: a bear of the size and colour typical of grizzly bears and head features that looked more like a black bear's.

As a caribou biologist living and working in Hinton, 50% of these are high on my priority list We have had no Dr in our our ER overnight nearly every night in 2025 And sometimes no Dr after 1pm Luckily for him our MLA doesn't live in Hinton, so it's not on his high priority list

Hey Rural Albertans... 3 outta 4 of these endangered items might not be too high on your priority list... But the one you care most about might be the first one to go extinct... There is NO PLAN... govt will spout "record doctor numbers"... you seeing them in rural?

It's time for another guess the bear; this one even tricked some of our biologists! Before we sent its hair off to the lab for DNA sequencing, we made our guesses. Before we reveal the answer, see if you can figure it out. We'll post the answer in a week! #trailcamtuesday
