Rod Liddle had a police caution for attacking his pregnant girlfriend. He peddled Rupert Lowe level virulent race hate for the Spectator long before it was fashionable. He wrote about wanting to fuck schoolgirls. To the end he was a bitter, petulant, thin-skinned, needy, angry man. Now he's dead. 🤷🏻♂️

X-ray Spex glasses company tries to ban glasses buyers from looking through people's clothes.
FWIW, Meta was fully aware of how these glasses would primarily be used. The glasses were designed to erase consent, and that is why they exist. Anything that they do that suggests they want to ameliorate this use is an attempt to win the PR battle and manipulate public opinion.
rec of the day III STEPHEN COGLE/PETER STAPLETON "an afternoon with victor dimisich" (siltbreeze LP) achingly beautiful, stripped down versions of VDB's tunes, captured live as the pin group was revving up. vibes like reed's recordings at the robinsons's apt siltbreeze.bandcamp.com/album/stephe...

Also media deference to AI company PR is in part related to the old Arthur C. Clarke quote "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic".
There's a default for the media to breathlessly report what these AI companies say but per my previous post the boffins at Barclays saying ZERO productivity gain might in fact be a better metric source. It might just be the AI companies are founded on a mountain of lies 🤷♂️
Here's a better headline for BBC News: IN A LIKELY MARKETING STUNT, OPENAI LAUNCHED A CYBER ATTACK AGAINST HUGGING FACE Everyone using algorithms is responsible for what is done with them. "AI" didn't do this. OpenAI, the company, did this. www.bbc.com/news/article...
Good chance that when the humanoid robot stomps on your carbonised skull, it's merely just a marketing gimmick www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
OpenAI says its AI went rogue and launched 'unprecedented' cyber-attack
It is one of the first publicly disclosed cyber-attacks carried out by AI without direct human involvement.
