All things Learning for Sustainability (LfS) in Holyrood Secondary School, Glasgow 🌍
Last Eco Committee meeting of the school year ♻️ lots of things to celebrate this year and lots of plans for the future. Thanks to the Sustainability Leaders for their contributions. Today they also helped to organise the water bottles for our new S1, and some items for our patio plot 🪴☺️
A warm welcome to our new Sustainability Leaders who joined during the S6 Induction, all should now be added to the Teams page. There is a QR code in SS2 if anyone missed this, and for anyone (all year groups) who would like to get involved 🌍
Well done to Annabelle who is one of the winners of this competition 🎉 delighted to see our Sustainability Leaders making a positive impact in wider community eco initiatives ♻️💚

Lois & Ozal were delighted to represent the school at the Trades House of Glasgow Citizenship competition. They presented the work of our groups and answered the panel’s questions very well. The girls are pictured with QIO Mairi Baker and Kenneth Dalgleish from the Trades House.

Great to be able to take some of the S1 pupils out into the sunshine today for some sketching. We are very lucky to have this patio right on our doorstep
Super well done to our S3 pupils who designed these fabulous anti racism T-shirts in French and Spanish as part of their language learning. A huge thank you also to Mr Ferry who lead the project and made sure the final product came together so well. More photos to follow. @scilt.bsky.social

They celebrated by planting flowers 🌷 A great way to sign off for the Easter holidays!

Sharing the Sustainability Leaders new Eco Code. This is a mission statement demonstrating their commitment to improving the school environment. The group have collaborated to create a code that reflects their LfS values and aims, and Nuala (S2) created artwork to display this. Well done all!

Brilliant workshops with some Sustainability Leaders and artist Abi this morning. We created clay artwork that will be part of the wider "Painting for Peace" project that is happening in our local community ♻️☮️ can't wait to see it all come together!

Starting the new year with positive results from our plastic waste audit. We are pleased single use plastic bottles continue to decrease, and many still choose our reusable option ♻️ thank you to our Sustainability Leaders who conducted the audit and helped collate the results at the end of 2025!
