Okay so I have a big ride in Kent that I'm wanting to do tomorrow morning and a bloke riding across a pedestrian crossing over a red light just slammed into my front wheel and burst the inner tube! Less than ideal.

Bit sad this. A post on the London subreddit asking what people are doing now Zipcar has left. Many in the replies say they just bought a car. reddit.com/r/london/comments/1vowijv/what_alternatives_to_zipcar_have_people_been/
Free cyclists' breakfast this Saturday morning in London Fields! Would be great to see you there, either to help out or just to have a chat.
Goo morning @cycleislington.uk! I'm wondering if this is something you've raised before: I'm getting a little annoyed at this part of my commute along C27. Seems like there's a rat run that's been left open via Popham Road / Greenman Street allowing drivers to avoid signalled junction to the north.
First audible confirmation of Sweet Caroline. Further events expected.

Any Gazelle owners ever had this part snap off one of their mudguards? I rode over an aluminium can and it somehow sprang up and took revenge

I've seen the trailer for that new Daniel Day Lewis film twice at the cinema this week, and I'm not sure I can take men speaking gruffly in Yorkshire accents seriously anymore. It just makes me think of this 80s pork advert now.
Range Rover driver plays chicken with me at the parallel crossing over Waterden Road. Finally he stops, fully over the zebra. Then winds his window down to shout "either go or don't", as if the issue was my lack of trust that they would not run me over in their two tonne vehicle.
I like the idea of a trying to induce leisure / tourism activity through cheap transport fares! But obviously the Deutschland-Ticket would be far less popular if you could only take buses (trams do not exist in most of London) using it.
NEW: we're supersizing the Hopper fare to put money back into Londoners' pockets this summer. Look out for our fun 🐸 buses.
It's Bandcamp Friday and I've just spent £111 on various things: bandcamp.com/liamness
Good evening Bluesky! Welcome to the live thread of the Hackney 2026 Mayoral Active Travel hustings. A full house here at the Pembury Community centre. We are joined by the 🟥🟩🟦 parties
Took this about a forrnight ago. A new bridge improving connections between the north of Hackney Wick with Fish Island appears to be nearing completion. Was supposed to open last summer! (see www.queenelizabetholympicpark.co.uk/business/fut...)
Why yes, algorithm, I do want to watch a half hour video discussing the historic links between cycling and feminism, with a meal-deal powered narrator.

If the transport secretary is saying privately owned e-scooters will become a legal mode of transport "as soon as parliamentary time becomes available", then planners of new road schemes need to take this into account *today*. Modal share growth for microbility vehicles is inevitable.

Changes are planned by the government but meet a mixed response in the West Midlands.

New ourbike.co.uk arrival in my neighbourhood (Prince Edward Road, Hackney Wick). Will be handy having it so close!
£700 seems like a ridiculously good deal for this? Wierd that it doesn't come with a rear rack as standard, and the positioning of the front light could do with a tweak, but otherwise looks like a winner. Bit surprising they're needing to do a fire sale. www.ridgeback.co.uk/ridgeback-er...

⚡📮Nice work @royal-mail.bsky.social, who have just announced the launch of a new fleet of over 100 micro electric vehicles, replacing 52 vans. Better for the climate and for deliveries. This is exactly the kind of move we need to see for cities free of diesel vans! #ElectrifyLondon
