The Ministry of Health in Uganda is about to confirm the outbreak of Ebola in Uganda too. This is currently classified as an imported case from the DRC; no local transmission has been confirmed in Uganda to date. A second close contact of the deceased is in isolation, also in Uganda.

Ebola outbreak confirmed in DRC. An urgent regional coordination meeting is underway today with health authorities from DRC, Uganda, and South Sudan, alongside WHO and global partners, to rapidly scale up cross-border surveillance, preparedness, and response efforts. Ituri and possibly North Kivu.

The FRC is absolutely right. This is a disgrace. 'The international community must move beyond statements of concern and bring substantive diplomatic and economic pressure to bear on conflict actors and their backers.'
