Can somebody please explain to me why people in faraway unaffected countries would deny the existence of an Ebola outbreak in DRC? What do they possibly have to gain from it?

The Ministry of Health in Uganda is about to confirm the outbreak of Ebola in Uganda too. This is currently classified as an imported case from the DRC; no local transmission has been confirmed in Uganda to date. A second close contact of the deceased is in isolation, also in Uganda.

The FRC is absolutely right. This is a disgrace. 'The international community must move beyond statements of concern and bring substantive diplomatic and economic pressure to bear on conflict actors and their backers.'
