A refurbishment of the public realm of #Newmarket has been completed by Dublin City Council. The phased project has seen traffic areas reduced & new pedestrian space created, improved surfaces and paving, & the installation of colourful new street furniture with trees, planting & seats. Take a look!

Public seats are hugely important to our enjoyment of streets and particularly valuable for older persons or those with mobility challenges. Keep an eye out for some new installations around Dublin 8 installed as part of an Age Friendly action of Dublin City Council’s South Central Area Office.

Bring on the sunshine! Weaver Park has had an upgrade with new play equipment, additional seating, a picnic table, a tennis table and new planting. There are also changes afoot outside the park. Parking has been removed from the east side of Ormond Street to improve the setting of the park.

Planning permission has been granted to The Iveagh Trust to develop 25 new apartments on a prominent and long vacant site at the junction of Dolphin's Barn and SCR. The development will provide new social housing as well as a large social enterprise/community space at ground floor.
