🎧 The audiobook company that shares profits with independent bookshops 💗 Certified B Corp 🔗 Shop, sign up, find bookshops, & more: www.libro.fm
It's cool being an employee-owned audiobook company driven by bookseller and customer feedback, vs. greed 🙃 You say, "Give us a corgi app icon!" and we'll do it. "We need a web player!" Well, it's yours. "Annual plan! Annual plan!" Done and DONE.
If you're looking for an audiobook platform that: 1. Shares profits with indie bookstores 2. Has DRM-free audiobooks 3. Offers different ways to buy 4. Is built by readers, for readers (vs another mega tech company just trying to maximize profits) ...then Libro is for you 😘
What if we all just made a pact to support our indie bookshops and public libraries to the best of our abilities instead of massive corporations 🙃
Them: "I need—" Me: "Something to temporarily take your mind off ~everything~ going on? Well, let me tell you about books. Specifically books from your indie bookshop. Not only will books help you unplug and recharge, BUT you'll be supporting a small business in the process! Them: "—a paperclip."
Books in libraries and indie bookstores > books in warehouses to train generative AI
Indie bookstores and public libraries aren't competitors, but friends! And you're allowed to support them both 🙃
We can't eat fruits or veggies, it's like a billion degrees, and there are four bills in the House and Senate right now that could ban books. So obviously I need a trip to the bookstore.
Know what's cool? When you ask a bookseller or librarian instead of a chatbot for a book recommendation or for more information about xyz, they provide you with actually useful information. And then when you read those recs, you form your own thoughts. Just sayin' 🤷♀
Behind every indie bookstore are passionate booksellers who really, really, really just want to help you find a great book. (And maybe bond with you over cat socks.)
@libro.fm assembled a list of audiobooks for disability pride month as well as bookstores you can support which are owned by disabled and neurodiverse people AND a collection of interviews with disabled authors on audiobooks as accessibility. Why are you using Audible? libro.fm/disability
Read audiobooks! Support indie bookstores! Support your public library! End of post.
If you need a space to find and build community, your indie bookshop and public library may be just what you are looking for 💕
Reminder: Every time you purchase an audiobook on Libro, your chosen indie bookshop benefits.
Hi, it's me, reminding you that this weekend is a great weekend to not only visit your indie bookstore, but to treat yourself to a book or two 😍 (And if you can't make it in person, treat yourself to an audiobook or two!)
"Yes, I do need another sticker from my local bookstore." *Purchases sticker* *Immediately puts sticker into a special sticker box, never to be seen again*
We're just an employee-owned audiobook company, standing in front of readers, asking them to make the switch so they can support their indie bookstore with every audiobook purchase 💓 (We're also a Certified B Corp, offer DRM-free audiobooks, & have 600,000+ to choose from.)
Happy? Read an audiobook. Sad? Read an audiobook. Stressed? Read an audiobook. Tired? Read an audiobook.
Audiobooks play a HUGE role in making reading more accessible 🙌 But it's not enough to stop there—our tech has to be accessible, too! If you ever discover something lacking on our website or apps, please tell as at hello@libro.fm!
Reminder: Reading is for everyone! No matter our age, where we live, accessibility requirements, income, or interests, reading is for all 💕
Pride is all year long 💓 And it's not just about celebrating LGBTQIA+ stories, but amplifying, honoring, and fighting for them 🏳🌈 🏳️⚧️ So keep reading these books 📚 supporting LGBTQIA+ owned indie bookstores 💕 and fighting for rights ⏬
"It's not easy to divest from Amazon." You're right—& that's how they want it to feel! Any move away is powerful. "Books are cheaper there." Also true! But your dollars go further when you shop indie. (Or check out your library!)

Fun fact: Today is also a great day to support your indie bookshop. (And not just because a certain online mega-retailer is having its annual sale, but because indie bookshops need our support all year long to thrive.)
