It was just after sunrise and the junior Merlin’s were already busy performing their aerial acrobatics and chatting about it … loudly! KEE KEE KEE! This young one was very proud of its feathers and wanted to show them all off! #Birds 🪶

A young Merlin, hatched this year, flys directly at us calling.
It’s early morning and the low sun bathes the Merlin in warm light. It’s flying at us with its wings spread and its tail flared showing its beautiful brown, black and white horizontal bars!

Some of our evenings lately have been cool enough to produce some morning fog. Marshes are always magical places but the fog brings such a quiet beauty! As the sun came up, this female Redhead duck greeted it with an exuberant wing flap! #Birds 🪶

A female redhead duck flaps its wings on a foggy morning at the marsh. The image is backlit so the rising sun is lighting up the fog orange. The duck is flapping her wings in this orange misty glow!
