I saw one of these books (a friend was given it as a gift for his kids) and it was so ugly and banal, I can’t imagine anyone reading it even once. Whereas great children’s books by real writers & illustrators live in your head forever. And for heaven’s sake do not feed pictures of kids into genAI

Apart from data privacy concerns, literacy experts say these garbled and convoluted narratives could be an impediment to learning how to read.
In between other bits and bobs at work today I made a Boards of Canada-esque looping gif. Just for fun. I hope you find it weirdly soothing and satisfying to look at. Do I need to say "no AI"? This is made in Blender 5.2, which has some pretty nice new features. I also finally joined the union! 💪
