i was reading an essay that wrote this, and this would have described why i think he didn’t (or wouldnt ?) like ghibli films in his own terms. i guess they’re too romanticized just based off the ones i’ve seen and the ones people love

so i had grabbed an art book dedicated to tezukas sketches at my library, it’s kind of funny that sometimes his art style reminisces of moto hagio, ghiblis style, rumikos then some hanna barbera and upa-esque style as that was of its time and ofc disney
idk where my animation friends r at rn but what was your earliest memory of doing an animation? mines was as early as 7 yrs old, ofc i did the flip book thing but i remember coming up w little “skits” to show my aunty, when she was babysitting me, to see her reactions
discussing animation w my sister is so fun, while we both have different opinions on style and how story is approached, we both agree on two things 1. newer shows are TOO friendly, shows can’t do friendly fire between characters without having to reinforce vocally that they are friends, it’s sad
love sharing various memories (ig traumatic? but more embarrassing) w my bf, he is so funny cuz it’s like wdym they suspended you for having your head split opened 😭😭😭😭😭
