Today is not a difficult day for “members of the trans+ community” (just say trans people?) because… NOTHING. HAS. CHANGED. The guidance is not for us, it is for service providers. Do not change any behaviour until told otherwise, and even then - assess whether it’s worth doing anyway.

I don’t care if you like its cultural output. The BBC has been a major player in the immiseration of this country, in the persecution of trans people, immigrants, muslims, travellers and disabled people, in the spread of dangerous rhetoric about climate change and vaccines. It must be dismantled.

An evening with my token cis friends has revealed that they’re far more likely to oppose transphobic policy when it comes from a lame duck, universally hated PM than when the same policy comes from a charismatic Northerner. Fucking bleak, man.
If you can, you should opt out of having a Summary Care Record to make sure that your “data” isn’t readily available to every NHS service you use. Make them have to work to segregate you. (I recognise, of course, that this is a privilege unavailable to people with complex medical needs.)

Me and a friend ran into an old school pal of her’s that didn’t know she had transitioned. After caveating that he didn’t know the right language to talk about trans stuff, and being reassured that it was okay not to be perfect, he asked her (and I quote) “when did you troon out?”
I love and respect trans people! I just think they’re a danger to women, cheats, sexually deviant, and disturbingly mentally ill. I still love and respect them though! We shouldn’t kill them!

A lot of focus on Phillipson’s reappointment, but this is the worst minister appointment. Smyth is one of the most vicious TERFs in parliament, publicly called for Theresa May to apologise for being pro-trans, and was part of all of the recent attacks on trans healthcare.
FWIW while I don’t like the signal it sends in keeping her, I don’t think Phillipson was ever a driving force of transphobia in the way that Streeting was in Health. She’s just weak.
Been saying this for a while, but I think the public’s primary exposure to LLMs being slop attempts at art has made people underestimate the potential it has in other areas. This is hitting both the “that’s so cool” and the “that’s terrifying” parts of my brain.

Cis people don’t understand what it is to be trans. Something that I’ve really come to the conclusion of, is it’s such a complex and still marginal experience in society, even the most well meaning progressive cis person can’t really grasp it.
I wasn’t alive in the 80s, but I have to assume a difference between queerphobia then versus now is that companies didn’t hang up Pride flags while simultaneously implementing segregationist policies. We’re in the era of gaslighting.
Rayner to Health is the rumour that I’m clinging to. She’s shown that she’s willing to be quiet on trans issues to avoid embarrassing the media, but is she willing to be the one going on TV defending HRT bans? Maybe, but I’m at least a little doubtful.

All of that changes from September. Full segregation & humiliation across the board. The school staff cried in the meeting. This will absolutely lead to children's deaths 1/2
