Something to add: If you're opposed to Twitch's GenAI, please show you're also opposed to other GenAI Twitch tools such as FrostyTools and Tangia by not using them! FrostyTools scrapes the raider's profile and chat then uses GenAI to provide a (probably wrong) shoutout. Tangia steals actors' voices!

Starting February 1, 2027, creators will need: 1. 8000 Qualified Watch Hours (up from 4000), or 2. 20M Qualified Shorts Views (up from 10M) There are no eligibility changes for fan funding.

Zach Bussey 🍁@zachbussey.tos.gg · 2mo agoTwitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.
I’m in the midst of a week off from streaming. I got to set up Linux for the stream PC, making all of our PCs Windows-free. On a whim, I installed Need for Speed Underground 2. It’s still one of the best racing games ever made.
Saddened and shocked by this news. Belghast has always been a pillar of the community. In addition to his wonderful writing, he engaged heavily with the community for so many of the games that I've played. He will be sorely missed.

Streamer.bot@streamer.bot · 8mo agoIt's a goal of ours. While yes, it is built on .net and .net is cross-platform, some of the current features are Windows based (speech recog, for one). It is going to take a lot of work for Nate to reach the cross-platform goal.
