Love when you have an assignment that's worth 25% of your final grade, has confusing guidelines, and has a "sample submission" that doesn't actually follow the guidelines at all, clearly being for a different project with different requirements.

I took a proctored exam yesterday for the first time in many years and it was wonderful. I missed exams so much They're so relaxing... The focus and the problems... And I even got to try out a brand new calculator. I was okay.

i really dont like letting people use my computers or phones or anything and its not even really because i want to hide things, i am just very sick of people wanting to use *my* stuff and then being mad that its set up in a way that makes it hard for them.

Even if ai becomes able to to literally everything humans can do and more, I don't think that would make humans obsolete. For the same reason that there being some guy that can do your job much better than you doesn't make you job obsolete.

It also kinda annoys me that intro programming classes are like all based on the assumption that you're planning to go into specifically corporate programming where you make code to order for a customer or boss, which is vexing when im a math major and ill never be a SWE

Why is it the textbooks they make us pay like $100 for in classes are the worst written unchecked garbage... Meanwhile like every good textbook is available for free as a PDF on the website of the guy who wrote it

I hate programming classes at college because they always start talking about customers and the idea of writing a program for a customer is really really not what I'm here for Besides I don't think those people write code anymore lol

It's nice to look back at the idea of gift economies and the commons and take the good things, but we can't forget how the principles of social demonation apply there too, right? It's nice if everyone is better off because we look out for each other, but also, sometimes people just aren't liked

I don't love how my math course is structured right now. They have lectures scheduled to be watched each week that take several hours, which is reasonable, but then they have assignments due during the week on the topics inside, so really you need to watch everything monday.

I mostly hate all this ai math stuff because it results in scores of people who don't care about math at all talking about math without actually talking about the math

It's been literally years since I did this level of math and I forgot how tedious it all is... And also putting vector components between angle brackets keeps making me think it's an inner product and throwing me off
