Tip from a journal editor: if you are late on a review, ask for an extension so we know when to expect it and so we can adjust those annoying auto reminders. I almost always would rather have a late review than no review.

Both children applying to grad programs this round. I’m amazed at how much harder it is than back when we used typewriters and usps. Does every program have to ask for the same info in a different number of essays with different word limits?

And it begins again. Another offspring preparing to apply to grad school. It’s so enlightening to see it from this side. The privilege of being 3rd generation academic is real (and often really annoying for offspring).

On this Monday of the last full week of summer (because quarter system starts late September), I’m looking at my list of unfinished summer goals and realizing I need another month…
