weird when ppl say "oh yeah I messed up... and *I own that*" like what does "I own that" even mean ppl just be saying unfalsifiable things and disarming other ppl

guy wants autistic gf for "shared interests", imagines: "we'd share the interesting parts of our days and discuss, then watch a movie..." and not: she talks about the same topic for 15 mos straight relates every convo back to her topic her interest in video games extends only to farming rpgs

the concept of "unmasking" is kinda fascinating to me rn like I am now really aware of all the things I do that are effortful/exhausting and feel explicitly controlled but can't get rid of the idea that I have some kind of moral obligation to do them anyway

there aren't really solid norms online for a lot of things like I will often notice e.g. from post tone if someone is depressed, or having a hard time, or if a couple is thinking about getting engaged, etc irl there are like norms for the kinds of things you can bring up with people but idk here

when there's a positivity bias, it benefits people to say positive things even if it's bad for the person hearing them e.g. false encouragement, setting up unrealistic expectations, no "real talk" etc consider a 'mean girl' saying "no that dress isn't too slutty, you'll look so cute!!"
