Been at it since May & the novelty has long worn off on clearing out the 100-year-old hoarder house I inherited from my parents. Between the mold & the ridiculous heat & no electricity & the despair, I think it might just kill me. Going up in the attic tomorrow, pray for me 🙏🙏🙏

My millennial nephew: "Who's Rick Rogers?" 😆😆😆 From my parent's house, my mom was using it as a drawer liner in her desk drawer. Sacrilege! I didn't realize I'd been neglecting BlueSky for so long. The house clearout & not succumbing to heat exhaustion,is taking up all of my time and energy.

May reading wrap-up! It was a pretty good reading month, I'd hoped to finish a couple more books but life got in the way (I hate it when it does that lol). Mostly ARCs, and my top read of the month was Dolly All The Time by Annabel Monaghan 🥰 #BookSky 💙📚🌶

Storygraph reading summery for May 2026. 13 books total, a mix of NetGalley ARCs and KU borrows. I need to start reading my library books but I have a backlog of ARCs to get through first

Happy pub day to Dolly All the Time by Annabel Monaghan! I love this author's genuine characterizations & the hope & love in all of her stories. Anyone who has been a caregiver will relate to Dolly & root for her relationship with Stewart. 5 stars! #BookSky 💙📚 app.thestorygraph.com/reviews/23a9...

It's no mystery why I like the dissociative nature of reading romance books. I get to step out of my frustrating life & into a world that is hopeful & has an ultimate HEA. I don't have to manage anyone else's problems or expectations, I just get to sit back and enjoy the ride. It's therapeutic 💙📚

Today's installment from my parents' hoarder house cleanup: late 20th century ephemera! 1980 bumper sticker from defunct Orlando radio station BJ105; US bicentennial patches; groovy sticker pack; and 1973 "Great Burgerini" sticker from Burger Chef (also defunct) #Vintage

Circa 1980 bumper sticker from top 40 radio station BJ105, broadcasting to the Orlando area. Sponsored by Super Skating CentersI thought this was a sticker but it may be an iron-on patch. The Great Burgerini from Burger Chef, circa 1973Super groovy psychedelic name stickers for "Paul" (my dad, this had to have been a gag gift because he was the least psychedlic person I've ever met)Maybe iron-on patches? Two patriotic items commemorating the bicentennial. It was SUCH a huge deal in 1976, you don't even know

Next up from my parents' hoarder house cleanout, entitled "Why Did They Keep This Empty Box For 45 Years?" But haha joke's on me, the box wasn't empty! It was jammed full of crumpled-up newspapers from August 1979! why just why 😭

Empty box for a Kraco brand 40 channel cb radio from the late 70s, the price tag says $72.99!Newspaper ad from August 1979 when it was a big selling point that the Audi 5000 didn't need unleaded gas (gas crisis?)Newspaper ad from 1979, where you could rent that behemoth of a TV for just $10 per week!Newspaper ad from 1979, just look at the prices for that audio equipment!

Starting a multi-part pictorial series because I have to share this stuff with somebody: "Interesting Stuff I Found While Cleaning Out My Parents' Hoarder House." Part 1, ancient telecommunications: a 1968 Philadelphia phone book & an early 20th century wooden magneto crank telephone from Canada

Philadelphia phone book from August 1968, published by TheBell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania Crank magneto telephone from the early 20th century, wood and brass, from Canada. Bonus repro Crosley radio in the back from the 80s, the kind you can play a cassette tape in

We lost this sweet lady today. But in a lovely circle-of-life happenstance, her remains are eventually going to be part of a manufactured coral reef off the coast of Florida. I love that. Bye Tonks, you were such a good girl. 🤍🖤

I know it's been a rough week when I'm working with my earbuds in and I'm sitting here crying at O Valencia! by the Decemberists. 😢 It's so sad, why does it sound so upbeat when it's so sad??? 😭😭😭
