One of my "exhaustions" when debating gender with people from the Global North who haven't engaged with decolonial studies is how visible it becomes that the US queer experience gets treated as the default standard for "queer" experiences everywhere.

Maddy Myers 🏳️🌈@midimyers.com · 4mo agoif there's anything i've learned in my many years of writing and reading media criticism, it's that it doesn't matter how offensive a portrayal of a marginalized person is, there will always be someone of that identity who has personally reclaimed that character. and p often that person is also me.
I know the industry is in a dire state right now for jobs but If any indie studios see this and need an additional programmer, PLEASE let me know ASAP! my partner @barndone.bsky.social is a great generalist programmer and needs a home! Vancouver on 1 salary isn't going to cut it for long 😓

E o pior é dizer que "é preciso ter autocontrole" diante de uma perseguição. Ninguém tem que "aprender" a lidar com maus tratos, quem mal trata é que tem que ser punido ou mudar.
