I've been curious about non-English/international reactions to the Cyberpunk movement as it was unfolding in the US, so will hopefully post some fun observations as I make them for a time. The first comes from this Czech language magazine ("Ikarie"), November 1991.

The cover of the November 1991 Czech language magazine titled "Ikarie". It is a science fiction magazine, with some content descriptions in Czech on the cover. Examples include the word "Kyberpunk" with no context, and "William Gibson: Johny Mnemonic", which was translated into Czech and printed in this issue.

More from Denvention Two, 1981. Cynthia Felice and Connie Willis don wearable technology to aid the fans. Their first co-authored novel would see publication in ~4 months after this photo. I've never read anything by Felice but got a chuckle out of their bit! (📷 Frank Olynyk via Fanac.org)

The inimitable Terry Carr seen here at the Denvention Two World Con in 1981. It was here that he signed William Gibson to contribute a debut novel to the 3rd Ace Specials series. He had notes on Gibson's proposed title of "Jacked In". (📷Frank Olynyk via fanac.org)
