exhausted from family calling me all morning to give condolences, went for a walk to clear my head and now I’m just regular exhausted. after I shower I might boot up a tokon stream to stay distracted

my aunt, who’s been living with my mom and I for a few years, passed away last night after a battle with cancer. she had suddenly deteriorated rapidly over the last week. this is the third relative that we’d been taking care of in/near our home in a hospice situation within the last ~5yrs.

also after giving all of the characters a try in their combo trials, even if he’s not for me, green goblin might be the coolest new debut fighting game character in ages. he’s got an insane amount of personality and visual flair combined with one of the nuttiest source-accurate kits in the game

finished all the combo trials and all of the episode modes, so that’s colors 5 and 8 for everyone. now we only need 🫴6🫳7
played a couple hours of big walk and I like it a lot. you really do need a big group of people to play with though cuz some of this stuff can either get really complicated or take forever to do with a minimal amount of players
another thing this game has that a bunch of modern games with some sort of network login/server connection check don’t: tokon boots to main menu insanely fast, basically as instantly as any old game does, especially now that you can instantly skip developer logos. I think only 2xko boots this fast
Lite@litetheironman.bsky.social · 4d agoI haven’t played any matches yet because I’m mostly just poking at all of the other bits in the game to see what it does or doesn’t have and then I find something that I wish strive or any other game I’m playing would try out. those “figure it out yourself” combo trials are really fun
kind of sad that danger is like, the least fun hoverdash character I’ve played. it makes no sense because this is the same developer that made i-no, and even her ggst iteration still feels good to move and run mix with (or at least better than danger does) team is currently tony spidey shuri
finished the episode modes for all the tokon teams. liked all of them except doom’s where I thought they were setting up magneto to succeed in a real face turn but it was a fairly standard “fighting game villains win the arcade mode” plot
I have rotated this around a lot the last year and received a lot of help and a lot of love that im eternally grateful for. My gf and I are trying to get money together to start moving out bc our rent + cost of living is astronomical. Were budgeting but moving still feels impossible. (Cont.)
