I'm the one in that picture, and the one whose experiences are discussed in that article. My experience at CBR was bad, but it was the tip of the iceberg. Valnet is corrupt all the way through and the higher ups are truly bad people who don't care about anything or anyone. Don't support them.

Though you may not support the sites on account of how they’re all terrible now, important to know Screenrant, Collider, CBR, Polygon, and other companies all deteriorated because they were bought out by Valnet, a truly heinous company started by shitbags.
