The official trailer for โ€˜The Saga of Rexโ€™ has been released. The indie hand-drawn feature was solo-animated by Michel Gagnรฉ over the course of 14 years. Releasing in 2027.

In the StarCraft 2 map editor files, there's a tiny handful of assets accidentally leftover from early alpha builds, like this Hydralisk texture from 2006, well before the game was announced. The style they're drawn in is very charming to me, much closer to Warcraft 3 than to the final SC2. #gameart

A color map for a very early version of the SC2 hydralisk, looking extremely hand drawn/hand-painted.The final SC2 hydralisk unit color texture in the 2010 release of the game, with a much smoother, airbrushy digital style, and also much more muted reddish-brown colors.

MY TIME HAS COME. Let us begin with the humble nurse shark. It's name may come from medieval times the "n" of "an" was often moved to the word that began with a vowel. Hurse was an old English word for shark, so it's possible "a nhurse" became "nurse shark". They are also adorable.

Here is a dinosaur drawing I did about 20 years ago. At the time I was copying a lot of works off of @tmkeesey.bsky.socialโ€™s The Dinosauricon, there is a strong chance these poses are knockoffs of work from there. I still had not yet figured out anatomy or how feathers attached!

An amateurish drawing of two small feathered theropod dinosaurs facing off, mid-leap. On the left is a Rahonavis, restored as more birdlike (but without a good understanding of how feathers and wings work), with wings raised above its head and a thin stiff rodlike tail with fan like feathers, and on the right is a Koparion, restored with a more stereotypical dinosaur like appearance and more protofeather filaments rather than differentiated feathers, though it does have a few on its arms (stopping before the hands).
