I'm bummed about the Hank Green AI thing. I had no idea he was using AI and that some of the videos I've seen of his over the past few months had the horrid hands of AI all over them. How can someone with a degree in environmental science use AI? What else is he wildly hypocritical about?

Liquid Death adding stevia has completely removed any good will I had towards the company. Stevia tastes like my body has a fundamental disagreement with this substance. It's not food. The drink itself doesn't even taste sweeter now, but it does have an awful lingering aftertaste.

Sometimes The Onion will take thoughts directly out of my head and make a thing with them. The level of apathy required to ignore mass extinction isn't natural.

I just saw an entire thread full of people praising Joe Biden and it really knocked the wind out of me. How can anyone look at him with anything other than disgust after the (ongoing) Palestinian genocide? In some ways Bluesky is every bit as disturbing as Twitter.

It's going to be legitimately difficult to see politicians I actually like say nice things about Lindsay Graham. You're allowed to not say anything at all, that's perfectly acceptable.

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson is announcing today the opening of a 75-unit enhanced tiny house shelter for people experiencing homelessness, located in the Interbay neighborhood. The facility is a part of Wilson’s plan to open 1,000 new shelter beds per year, with 300 beds announced so far in 2026.

I took one look at the new Google Health app that forcefully replaced my Fitbit app, then promptly took off my Fitbit and threw it in the trash where it belongs. Monopolies turn companies into damned morons. Capitalism ruins everything eventually.

Now THIS is the proper way to post on Memorial Day: show that you care about the soldiers without glorifying the stupid wars they died in. Top shelf politicking.

Memorial Day began as a tribute to the Union soldiers who died for a new birth of freedom in America's second revolution. Many more have died in the wars since. Some just, most not. No matter why the politicians sent them overseas, we remember them and their families.

I wonder if Abigail Spanberger fully understands that she's endangering minority groups all over the country with this decision, not just Virginia voters. Her inaction on the redistricting battle will make waves across US politics for years to come. Don't forget this when it's time to primary her.

I'm already on a bunch of lists, but now I get to be on one because of the way my brain functions rather than just my political beliefs. Woo.

They're just straight up calling autism a social contagion now. Exactly the same thing they did to trans people.

I am slightly embarrassed by the sheer volume of people on Bluesky claiming it was staged. It... could've been staged, sure, but it's not the most likely explanation. All the talk of the ballroom is a response to the shooting, they're simply taking advantage of the situation.

"The US is a failed state running on inertia" is something I just read and I can't bring myself to disagree with it. There's still electricity in the muscles, hence the twitching. How long can the spasms continue, a few decades? Take those vacations you've been thinking about before it's too late.

A low cloud ceiling in the Cascades is always magic.

Living in a studio apartment and being a Costco shopper often becomes a rousing game of "will it fit?" I would like to announce that Costco Kimchi does indeed fit on the bottom shelf of my small fridge.

While the Bernie/AOC rallies are extremely exciting, I yearn for the day when Americans show up in those numbers to a protest. Right now we only ever seem to show up in force when a congressperson organizes it. We need to learn from France, they know how to protest better than anyone.

My day yesterday was lovely. Sometimes all a person needs is some recreational drugs and a 15 mile walk around a medium sized PNW city to gaze at newly emerging flowers. It's fascinating how much rosemary is growing in almost every neighborhood.
