Hi! I'm LOLIPOP1136, an independent game developer. I'm a big fan of games which pose a challenge or an optimization problem. Right now I'm focusing my design efforts on the turn-based RPG genre. Find my games at: https://lolipop1136.itch.io/ She/Her 🏳️‍⚧️

Today I beat Sealed Fortress. Great dungeon-explorey type RPG, even if that's not actually a format which appeals to me all that much. The aesthetics in particular are extremely on point. Looks like there's a secret second ending so I'll be figuring that out next.

It's awesome that we got a sequel to this scene in chapter 5, and also a newsletter where Toby implied that fan expectations are massively off-mark in some way (context: the related theory is the only one so entrenched that it has no opposition whatsoever), but nobody's caught on yet.

Ok now that I've completed my replay, here's my one Deltarune opinion I feel strongly enough about that I want a record of it: imo the way the collective fandom thinks they have a better idea of what happened to Dess than a character scarred by its extended aftermath is sheer hubris.

A screenshot of Deltarune where Tenna talks about Dess, saying:
"HECK! Maybe you could get her to come back and watch again sometime!?"

(Implying that this would be a feasible thing to attempt.)

Approaching a year since I came out IRL and started seeking medical help, yet I'm still at zero progress towards actual medication whatsoever. At this rate I'm gonna have to give up on the incompetent morons in charge of this and start paying more and more Transgender Tax, fml.

So today I realized I actually really badly needed to change the name of one of the creatures in my game for the sake of my mental health. ...It sounds funny when I put it that way without context, ahahahaha.

I'm finding out that Plants vs. Zombies 2 is apparently still getting updates like 12 years later. I still remember when I lost all interest in it back when they inexplicably remade the entire game from scratch a couple months after release lmao.

Well, today I finished Requiem of Reuinis. Good game, but I ran out of steam towards the end since it's so long. I tried to go for a "high score" and reached ending B in 44 in-game days. I did have to abuse the free revives in the final level to push through the last bit of the final boss though.

One of the funniest online phenomena is that if you say that Luxray looks like it was intended to be a dark type (it perfectly follows the design cues of every dark type from the previous two gens), you will instantly summon the Army of Mono-Electric Fans to insult your mental faculties.

Today I did possibly my last round of balance tweaks... As part of this I added a new feature: certain abilities which significantly change the characters' combat strategy can now be toggled on/off in the menu. This should make picking them up more worth considering.

So I'm watching a Deltarune theorist's second playthrough stream of chapter 5 and, after reaching the shop at the halfway point... I guess not everyone has a high enough woke level to understand this subplot lol.

So currently my game takes 9-10 hours for a full playthrough, which is a bit longer than I was aiming for... I should probably add a fast forward button in battle to cut that down lol.

What the actual hell does Photoshop do that other image editing software can't such that everyone who uses it and works at a company would be willing to jump in front of a bullet shot at Adobe to defend its honour???

Ok I completed my Mina veteran mode run... as additional challenges picked up every item (except for some purchaseables in the city), didn't use trinkets, and didn't use sidearms to skip level segments. Finished with 418 deaths lol.

Do post-launch updates kill anyone else's desire to replay games or is that just me? Every once in a while I'll be tempted to replay a game I loved from my Steam library, but then I'll find out that they grafted on some unnecessary bonus content three years after the fact and just give up...

So I'm playing Mina the Hollower on the "hard mode" cheat preset, and what I was not expecting is that "less checkpoints" actually means "exactly one checkpoint in the entire game" lmfao
