Thank you to @luketaylorld.bsky.social, William from @paulkohlersw19.bsky.social team & Tabitha from Luke’s office who met some members of the Alliance yesterday. We discussed action to improve provision at a local, pan-London and national level. We look forward to working together.

Thank you to @carolinerussell.bsky.social for raising the fact that the draft London Plan has gone backwards compared with the last version when it comes to public toilet provision. This is the opposite of what need to happen as the need for good provision increases. Video from Caroline’s instagram
Members of the Alliance were pleased to have an excellent meeting with @fleuranderson.bsky.social and @bambosmp.bsky.social this morning to discuss the importance of public toilet provision.
Fantastic news!! Well done to @unitetheunion.bsky.social
Transport for London is investing £6m this year and plans 53 new toilet buildings for bus drivers over three years. Six routes without terminal facilities will be prioritised, alongside wider measures to improve drivers’ safety and working conditions. tfl-newsroom.prgloo.com/news/transpo...
Brilliant new research by our member @rsph.bsky.social. Hydration matters and a lack of loos are forcing people to drink less water 💦
Less than one in five people have easy access to public drinking fountains in the UK. That’s according to our latest report, which reveals stark inconsistencies in access to free drinking water across the UK 👀 👇️
Things you love to see. How about some more London loos @london.gov.uk ? @carolinerussell.bsky.social
17 new public bathrooms. Across all five boroughs. Because you can’t wait — and you shouldn’t have to.
Great that this includes accessible public toilets
Surrey Quays and Northolt stations have opened new step-free routes, improving accessibility for thousands of passengers. More than a third of Tube stations and over half of London Overground stations are now step-free, with further improvements planned to make travel easier for more passengers.
Hopefully someone of the levy can be used on public toilet provision @london.gov.uk
I strongly welcome giving London the power to introduce an Overnight Visitor Levy. A modest, well-designed levy has the potential to provide an important additional source of funding to support growth, strengthen London’s offer to visitors and help us remain globally competitive.

These new loos look good and may work well in a tourist hotspot like this. Where there are pay to use toilets, there should be good free public toilets nearby as not everyone will be able to pay. Councils need to be supported w/ ring-fenced statutory funding. www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambrid...

There was a bus driver in London looking for a toilet mid-route. Not distracted. Just… searching. He couldn’t stop. That’s normal now. Where Did All The Toilets Go?
