French-American artist Marcel Duchamp was BOTD in 1887 & died in 1968 at 81. In 1919 he drew a pencil mustache & goatee on a cheap postcard reproduction of da Vinci's Mona Lisa. He added the caption L.H.O.O.Q. which sounds like a crude French pun meaning "she has a hot ass"

One of my day jobs is assisting WI artist Jennie Bastian in engineering/constructing, painting, & installing her work. In Life Shroud I painted & heat sculpted PVC pipe to create the bustle-inspired structure. In Spoon Rest, I engineered & installed an illuminated display into found-furniture.

If every artist, staff + board member, & professional in the MKE Art Scene RIGHT NOW spoke up about the *money laundering, manipulation, classism, exploitation, racism, transphobia, and deep ties to conservative-controlled money + power* they saw there could actually be change for the better.
