I bought a charcoal odour-eating thing. It smelled so familiar when I opened it, though I've never had one. So familiar. Where have I smelled this before? It took a while for it to hit me. That's how my grandmother's apartment smelled after she died. They must have used them after removing her body

As much as I hate Amazon with a fiery passion, I got Audible for 99 cents for the next three months because I was deeply curious to read the re-do the author of "Divergent" did of that book called "The Sixth Faction", and I'm too broke to spend $30. Let's just say it has diverged very early on.

I'm of the opinion that if you're going to do audiobooks, it'd be a good idea if you, a, didn't make glaring word choice mistakes while you're doing it (It's May in that line, not Monday), and b, you should pronounce words properly: punning is pronounced like sunning not pruning.
If I had stupid money, I'd absolutely vanity create a film/TV version of Lucy Maud Montgomery's "The Blue Castle". I have no idea who I'd cast though.
Apropos of nothing, that park/parking lot at the corner of King and Churchill in Sydney, Cape Breton is where the hospital I was born in used to be, within walking distance to an off-shoot of the harbour.
I can't recall who shared it, but I remember a picture from Gaza many months back that I initially thought was black and white. "Why are they sharing a black and white photo in this day and age," I wondered. They weren't. It was rubble. Gaza was so broken all there was, was rubble. Dust. Nothing.
Using the military as a job creation tool for the young is as morally bankrupt as it is baffling and vile. You can't be arsed to create jobs for youth in a regular fashion, but you're okay increasing the funding to train children how to kill. You might be sociopathic and without a soul if...
The financial impacts of continued lack of gainful employment are going bite me this week in a way that I'll likely never get to recover from. It's nothing damning, just inconvenient, and potentially problematic. As an adult, I loathe not being able to adult because the job market is this terrible.
So, always it's the word "impregnable". I have never heard the word pregnable used even once, so I doubted its existence. It exists.
I suppose it'll come as a surprise to very few that know me that Iggy Pop's "The Passenger" is one of my favourite things in the universe.
Timothy Dalton was way too pretty to be Mr. Rochester, but I'm grateful he was cast regardless. He's my favourite Mr. Rochester.
Today, my relief comes in the form of I finally got some non-deodorised garbage bags to replace the accidentally purchased deodorised garbage bags. Lawdy, but I can't abide the smell of those things. Gross.
For the 1810427432342359923425th time, I'm watching the 1995 BBC "Pride and Prejudice". And, as it has many times before, it crosses my mind to wonder what a life would be like where 10,000 pounds a year is considered wealthy.
Two of the more impassioned celebrity voices to speak out against the state of Israel and what it's been doing are older than the state of Israel. I don't know what made me think of that. But I'll take a planet full of Miriam Margolyes and Roger Waters any day of the week over Israel.
Along with all the gambling app and get a loan ads, there's also been an enormous number of videos about peyote floating past me. The peyote sounds like the better option.
A series came out within the past decade(ish) with religious/cult overtones and prophecy vibes. The main character was a megachurch's pastor's son, but he was on the outs with his father, at least to some degree. His wife was also sleeping with his dad, and pregnant I can't remember its name. Help.
So, 500 jobs lost out of Stelco, about the same amount out of Hamilton Health Sciences, and despite the fact that there's a serious backlog at WSIB and they were suggested to hire 200 more workers, the premier is cutting about 400 jobs and closing offices there too. Fuck you, Ford.
How do I know the economic situation for the average person is in free fall? The largest number of ads I see elsenet, are all about gambling apps and easy to get personal loans.
