I was on doggie daycare again today. They were under the impression I was going to entertain them. I quickly set them straight. I don't know what it is about having companions who quietly sleep while I work, but I find it very soothing.

I like to be entertained every minute I'm awake. I'm always watching, listening, or reading. So I'm amazed that I'm able to spend an hour in the pool with no external input, just me and my brain, and come out refreshed, yet it happens every time.
Resa Gold is in love with her sister's best friend. She's doing fine, as long as she avoids him. When Logan Russo shows up at her apartment on a Sunday morning and asks her to be his creative muse...all bets are off. #sisters-best-friend #friends2lovers #spicyromcom #shortread
Is there a word for someone who needs solitude *and* community? Misanthropeople-person? That's me.
My writing companions today. I was doggie daycare. They were very encouraging—though they both fell asleep while I was dictating. I guess the plot didn't grab them.
If I were going to write a romantasy, the love interest would be Sleep. The heroine would fall instantly and deeply in love.
I'm feverishly editing so I can send out an alpha draft and get my first feedback on the novella I'm working on. I've been working on fast drafting, but I don't have any technique for fast revisions. Wish me luck!
In my latest newsletter, I review books by two amazing romance authors: Kimberly R Vargas and Addie Woolridge. Special shout-out to Fallin' for the Rush, Kim's brand-new release, which will have you turning pages right up to the end! lorelaitarlow.substack.com/p/a-love-let...
Okay, so either my first draft isn't bad or I'm delusional. I hope to figure out which before I finish editing. #authorsky

I did a fast draft of my WIP and now I'm scared to look at it in case it's crap. #authorsky
I love little free libraries. I especially love that there are bookshelves in train stations where travelers can exchange books. My TBR (both print and ebook) is stuffed to the gills, but I couldn't resist bringing back a stack of romances (and one mystery) from my train trip on Monday.
Just me, promoting my book by standing halfway in the frame...well done, me. Resa Drops a Stitch — out now Ava Casts On — coming November 10; preorder now Purchase links in bio.
I'm living proof that someone can like punk rock and country at the same time. Dolly Parton was as punk rock as they come. RIP to an amazing human being.
This mural turned an otherwise ugly underpass in Salinas into something spacious and colorful. Art is the magic we need in our lives.
I am generally expecting to be hit with some bad actions when first I confront the day's news and prepare myself to deal with it. I was not prepared for this. I will never be as loving, as kind, as genuine as Dolly. But in her honor, I can donate to her Imagination Library. imaginationlibrary.com
Is voice dictation getting worse or am I just mumbling and expecting it to read my mind?
I want to run ads to get more people to read my books, even though I spent three times what I made. One of my friends noted that a Silicon Valley startup would be thrilled to get a 30% return on their ad spend. I'm no startup, but I'm going with it as a win. #authorsky
What readers are saying about RESA DROPS A STITCH: "Full of fresh, lively dialogue and laugh-out-loud humor." "Drew me in right from the start!" "What a light, sweet, and fun read!"
Did I buy the pink rubber ducky bucket hat? Why yes, yes I did.
Past a man playing guitar and singing little red Corvette on my walk home today life is good.
I'm getting this book down faster than I have in the past. I wish I could say the story is flowing out of me, but it feels like I'm pulling the words out. #authorsky
My latest post asks the question: Is Kindle Unlimited changing the way authors write and—more importantly—edit their work? What do you think? lorelaitarlow.substack.com/p/is-kindle-...
I had to create promo photos of my books for a holiday craft show where I'll be selling books (in Berkeley — more info coming soon). I think they turned out okay.
Dictated around 1000 words on the walk to my studio. Even if half of it is shite (which it probably is), I'm ahead of the game.
My view from the swimming pool this morning. The sky is the perfect place for my mind to wander.
Some days my brain feels like it's moving in slow motion. #authorsky
A hockey romance novelist just saved five small town libraries in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley. 🇨🇦 Rachel Reid heard the branches were closing and made one of the largest private gifts in the regional library’s history. Books saving books. - EH! Canada’s Social Network ❤️
