Toymaker and diarist.

I’ve been having an evening walk each day, after dinner, after chores. Telling my body it’s time to slow down and go to bed with a book.

An amazingly structural wildflower, against the setting sun.

But I watched #mrblobby die, back in 2001 at W12. Somehow, Mr Blobby returned. Or is this some kind of darker, more ruthless imposter to match these times? And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

The bloated skincorpse of Mr Blobby distends obscenely from a skip, thrown in there to dispose of his disgusting body after his execution, yet left on display as a warning to his kind. It’s a sunny day. The beast is dead. Rejoice!

BLOBBY IS BAAAAACK!!! https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2026/jun/04/bizarre-return-of-mr-blobby (Just noting that my current novel-in-progress features a mass crucifixion of burning Mr Blobbies at one point. It seemed … necessary.)

Today is the 21st anniversary of the Brian Harvey Jacket Potato Incident. Have a wonderful day, all who celebrate it - I am going to mark it solemnly by having one (1) sensibly filled (cheese and beans) baked potato.

That made up English Heritage plaque that says “Brian Harvey - Boy band member. Ran himself over with his own car at this spot after eating three tuna mayo jacket potatoes - May 2005”

I think I’m going to block the word “whimsy” and its derivatives. It’s become yet another indicator of the collapse of people’s vocabularies - cf. YouTubers describing everything as “insane.”

I’m reporting slum landlord and well-known fraudster Tom Nook to Trading Standards over his latest scam - he’s selling watering cans which literally blow up in your face after barely a day’s use. #acnh

A screengrab from Animal Crossing New Horizons- An Animal Crossing islander stands next to Stonehenge, holding a watering can and looking pensive.
