#OTD in 1934 #AmericanRocketSociety Rocket Motor No. 4, used in the flight of ARS #4 on Staten Island Sept. 9, 1934. Burning liquid oxygen & gasoline, that flight was the ARS’s most successful reaching a height of 382', a distance of 1,585' & a velocity near the speed of sound.
