In The Chair waiting for my latest infusion. The woman in the next cubbie was talking very loudly in French to someone who was also very loud, on speaker, of course. I understood just enough to feel like an eavesdropper... guess all those years of French stayed with me. 😄

Atlanta area folks: our fave indie #TallTales Books is kicking off a month long celebration of their 47th anniversary with a flute concert at the shop at Toco Hills. We'll be there! Bookstore kitty Kit Marlowe will perhaps not be in attendance, but he's ready to party nonetheless. (Photo from IG) 📚🎉

I have thoughts on The Odyssey, but I won't inflict them on anyone except to say that we enjoyed it and it was beautiful to look at, if painfully loud at times. 70 mm was fine; I could never have survived it in IMAX. Samantha Morton as Circe was terrific!

At the Tara theater in Atlanta way early for the 10:30am showing of The Odyssey, thinking it might be crowded with other folks who put it off. So far we are the only ones other than employees in the parking lot. It's going to be hella loud in there... 🙃

Reluctantly headed back to ATL after a lovely couple of days on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, in spite of a close encounter with TS Bertha on Wednesday. Got some beach time in and ate some good seafood, although the brand new hotel had a few opening week hiccups. 🙄 ##RoadTrip

View of a thunderstorm off the coast from a sunny evening beachfront restaurant deck. A line of tables each with a different primary color closed umbrella along the rail. Line of very dark storm clouds from TS Bertha behind a lone wind-whipped palm tree on a lonely stretch of beach. Choppy surf and a sky of mixed sun and leftover dark clouds the day after the storm passed. Waffle House coffee mug - breakfast with the lovely Lisa and her coworkers before heading back north.

Lafayette, we are here! Stopped for a walkie and coffee at Coffee B4 Everything in LaGrange, Ga. Haven't been through here since summer of 2022, right before all my medical stuff started. It's really good to be back. ☕️🥰 #RoadTrip

A sunny day in LaGrange Ga. town square with a fountain surrounding a large statue of the Marquis de Lafayette, holding the "Cockade of Liberty" in an upraised hand and a tricorn hat in the other. Closeup of the Marquis on his pedestal, against a blue summer skyLarge coffee go cup with a label reading Coffee B4!

It's the mister's (gulp) 75th birthday, and in our infinite wisdom, we are threading our way south on I-85 through Atlanta, with 50,000 of our closest friends, on our way to the Gulf Coast, just in time to meet up with TS Bertha. Don't tell me we don't know how to have a good time. 😏 #RoadTrip
