Is it possible to challenge a remarked reading KS2 SAT paper? I was really confident that a child got 4 questions correct. It's not been upheld. If this child got Exs in reading it would change our combined by 3%.

Go to the same OK Diner twice in one day? Don't mind if I do.
Are there any EYFS peeps who would be happy to share their long term planning format?
I play a logic puzzle app and sometimes the clues are really annoying, e.g. the 'second shortest queue' turns out to be one person because there was no queue at another counter. No queue can't be counted as the shortest queue. There is no queue.
After a horrendous day/week I came home to this by #JackMeggittPhillips and illustrated by @hollyswain.bsky.social So happy! The quandary now is do I read it before I lend it out in school? I really want to but I have lots of children who want to read it.
I've just had a notification that I've been removed from the list of staff able to access The Key... from a school I left over 11 years ago!
Is there a reason why teachers couldn't tick off ELGs for F2 throughout the year if the children are showing they have met them?

Anyone else quite concerned about the SEND reforms? Many, many mainstream schools are already struggling to support children with SEND greater than they can cater for. I'm not sure that training is what's required.
💡 NEW POST 💡 ‘Hasty Reading’ New PISA results have shown a global slump in reading ability and they’ve asserted an issue of ‘hasty readers’. What might it mean for classrooms, the use of tech, and what we do next? alexquigley.co.uk/hasty-readin...
Hasty reading
The culture of reading is always changing. Currently, there are lots of articles about the death of reading and the 'dawn of a post literate society' to worry the average parent and the busy teacher. ...

As we're returning to KS2 performance measures this year does that mean the progress data from 2022 and 2023 will finally disappear from the IDSR?

Since its foundation in 1824 the bravery of Royal National Lifeboat Institution volunteers has saved more than 146,700 lives at sea. Hundreds of those volunteers have died attempting to save others. They are the best of us.
Has anyone else got lots of gaps in the 'versus similar schools' section of the new IDSR? Not sure how we're supposed to draw any conclusions from it.

I've just discovered that there's a S2 and 3 of Colin from Accounts. This is good news.
Self care in the holidays vs self care in term time... Holidays - spa day, acupuncture, afternoon tea, massage, facial etc. Term time - I don't think I'm going to get away with dry shampoo again tomorrow. I'm going to have to wash my hair.
Just spent ages clearing WhatsApp. It was completely clogging my phone. Can't see anything in settings that gives me the option of not saving everything.
Torrential rain for the first time since...? In other news I'm off to a festival tomorrow. 😬
Sheffield councillor Robert Hanson left Reform after he saw the rot behind the facade. Now he's urging others not to be taken in. Reform is haemorrhaging councillors at a rate of 1 every 3 days since May. We're tracking them all: https://bestforbritain.org/reform-uk-defections-resignations-tracker/
Really sad to hear the news about Dolly Parton. #RIPDolly
Mr B and I had a couple of nights away. Last night we got that dreaded phone call from one of the (grown-up) kids... Hi just to let you know I'm on my way to A&E. All sorted luckily. On our way home to see the wounded soldier. Need to pick up a thank you present for our neighbours who took him.
I have an annoying tan line halfway up my calf. Should I just put suncream on the bit that's tanned?
