after Betnijah, second biggest NYL deadline surprise is not acquiring a third big -- Han's had a great season, don't think her defense is playable in the 'offs:

not sure if Jonquel missed intentionally but missing the 2nd FT up 1 can be a real +EV play. Slows Chicago down here. Liberty with a ballistic victory
As I wrote, it feels like trying to convert PnR into post position can be a losing battle rn, in part because of how post players are officiated vs. drivers. Jonquel's 3rd foul. (Prob wouldn't be overturned, but very soft considering she's also getting grabbed on the waist.)

Takeaways from New York Liberty’s 99-98 overtime win vs. Dallas Wings, more
It wasn’t convincing, but it was a win New York needed with every fiber of their being. Here’s the latest on the team.

Mikel hitting this gear with ease vs traps/hedges is not something Nets fans are very familiar with. The whole sports car simile is overdone, but he really does feel like a Sweet Sixteen present..
I mess with Chaney. Hope BKN gets him some non-garbage minutes next season, curious to see more.
indeed, here's Sabrina making that read -- expect to see more of it as she gets more comfortable:
NYL tenth in rim frequency% this season -- I think Sabrina's absence shows up here. she excels making these PnR manipulation reads for layups, reads that I do think have been available for NYL's guards:
DAL did well to keep moving in 4-on-3 situations yesterday. Stewie might be the GOAT 2-on-1 defender but Awak’s cut here makes her job much harder:
at a wedding this weekend but: -- Liberty good? -- Acuff shot what?
Sab's drives have been strong today -- LVA forced to respect it, and an open 3PA for JJ. Good stuff:
NYL with more post initiation and A'ja doesn't appreciate it:
believe it or not, I thought NYL had a lot of positive play vs. the Valkyries left a bit on the table, though:
why 45Âş cuts off baseline drives are now common practice:
Mikel Brown Jr. high and low cases from the *phenomenal* Swish Theory draft guide: theswishtheory.com/2026-nba-dra...
doesn't matter because they won't even consider it but Nets should see how much Charlotte values Mikel Brown Jr.

DEAL: Nets trade Nic Claxton, #33 for Minnesota’s Julius Randle, #28
Brooklyn made a major trade on Monday night, saying hello to an old foe and goodbye to the longest tenured Net.
netsdaily.com
they paid $13.5 million annually (for two years) to get a much better player (sorry Nic love you) and move up five spots in the draft while opening a pathway for Nic's potentially better, lower-cost backup to start games they're not gonna engrave it on Marks' headstone but it's solid
Can you expand on the “good nets trade” part? Reaction seems pretty down in general. Do you like it in a vacuum or in the context of other stuff that’s coming? I’ll buy it on the merits of: JR does stuff last years team couldn’t do (self create, rebound, play w/ force) even if he’s a placeholder
good nets trade more coming when I first started seriously writing/thinking about basketball, Clax was an emerging talent and then he had that 2023 season that surpassed all expectations and I wrote obsessively about it. for that reason, one the Nets always closest to my heart
game-winner at the gun!! you knew that was good immediately
Alright, I wrote about the Knicks title, the NYC, the Mikal of it all, and that's that: www.netsdaily.com/nets-feature...
