Writer, voice actor, director, scientist. Yes I wrote that thing for ATLA that one time. Carrie Fisher impersonator.

On Calypso: Nolan’s R rated film turns it into talk therapy & opiates. A myopically modern take glossing over the sexual abuse in the OG. Epic the Musical depicts a nuanced portrait of the cycle of abuse, and how while not all abuse comes from malice, it’s still destructive.

Want some bad news to start your day? Hank Green uses ChatGPT “for research and to generate his notes for his scripts”. He got caught because he was spewing so many ChatGPTisms in his video and people caught on. No wonder his content has so rapidly declined.

The more I think about it, the more bizarre it seems that Mai didn’t even get a cameo in the Aang film. Bumi should be born by now. Izumi should be just around the corner. And Bryke is still refusing to confirm Mai or anyone else as the mom. Why?

I can live with most of the new Gaang voices, and hope they’ll improve w/ practice (except Yuen who already has the chops). But Eric Nam as Aang is such an atrocious miscast. His monotonous pretty boy whisper he uses for the entire film doesn’t fit Aang’s tremendous energy.

Take the words “narcissist” and “sociopath” away from the ATLA fandom. They don’t know what they mean and refuse to learn. It’s just become shorthand for “flawed character I don’t like and want to paint as inflexibly evil” rather than the complex personality disorders they are.

Remember in the 2000s when they’d hire cultural consultants this? What happened to that? Don’t tell me it’s too expensive. Go to any CA university campus and you’ll find people with degrees in this field who would work for peanuts just to get to use the degree.

I dont know if this is brazen or it has just become so normalized that people who use the stuff don't see it anymore but the text that opens the final paragraph on the right on the big slides for your sdcc presentation is WILD

According to chatgpt written in the Avatar movie presentation.

The Odyssey’s (2026) appropriative misrepresentation of the Greek concept of “Xenia” and Nolan filming on occupied land even after being asked not to would’ve gotten any other filmmaker pilloried. Nolan gets to play by different rules, apparently.

If Nolan wanted to make a gritty allegory for modern social disruption and WWII PTSD, he should’ve used THE ILIAD. Achilles is the protagonist who ends up with regrets for chasing glory. Butchering the Odyssey to make it fit disparate themes and intentions just ruins it.

Who would even name a band The Who? That’s not a name! Imagine someone asks “who’s on first?” and gets the reply “The Who”, and somehow they don’t understand they mean the band? Completely unbelievable! Would never work.
