I'd like to make a correction. After seeing another 16mm print of the US cut... I can say nothing was cut and was only rearranged and added one bit a extra child acting. Lucas saying 5 minutes were cut is false.

A little known fact about THX-1138 is that the studio cut has extra footage. Here is some unused child acting taken out when Lucas got to make his cut that made it to home video. The 71 cut is only on 16mm. After watching both, the only thing cut was the Buck Rodgers intro.
