Rare materials cataloger, contains multitudes.🐍🦇

MA continues to have ridiculous numbers of uncontested incumbents. I still can’t get over the uniformed cops working the poll checkouts in this city. And these stickers are a missed opportunity for fun.

Absolutely defeated trying to get LED plug and play tubes for my 18 and 24 inche kitchen light fixtures. Fluorescent it is, I guess. The 48” one, no problem, found one fairly easily. WTF. Why is this still so difficult?

Cannot get these muffins to brown on top unless I overbake them. Tried top rack, don’t want to try sugar on top. The muffins are dairy free, so no milk sugars to brown, and not much other sugar either (old school Fannie Farmer recipe). *grumble* At least they taste good?

Pale-topped blueberry muffins in a pan.
More pale topped muffins in their pan, one turned to show the bottom has browned.

Outstanding dark pattern here. Not pleased by how long it took me to realize there are in fact 2 buttons. (My phone settings probably didn’t help - I keep night shift on 24/7, and the screen brightness fairly low, too.)

Screenshot of cookie acceptance pop up, with a blazing green “accept all” button and a nearly-invisible light gray “reject” button.

Solidarity with Yuko Kikuch who has resigned from the V&A. Heritage and Cultural institutions make much about ‘celebrating’ diversity and ‘championing’ inclusivity, but the reality is in this testimony. Constant ‘push back’ from leadership and white staff. www.theartnewspaper.com/2026/07/20/h...

Head of V&A’s academic programmes resigned citing ‘racist’ and ‘culturally insensitive’ behaviours, letter reveals

Yuko Kikuchi wrote a letter to the museum’s leadership that was supported by 12 academics and included student testimonials

This is the correct answer. When an institution has a bunch of "expired" N95s, the protocol is to distribute 2, to account for the increased likelihood the elastic breaks when putting one on. The filter material will remain effective for many years

I assumed the exp dates were more about the elastic bands than the mask/filter itself, so I would say as long as it still fits you tightly, it’s probably okay? (and unlike with wearing it to prevent disease transmission, it might not be essential that it fit exactly as tightly as before it expired)
