🥁🥁🥁 Newly out from us today in Science Advances: “Biased AI Writing Assistants Shift Users’ Attitudes on Societal Issues”. Large Language Models are providing users with autocomplete writing suggestions on many platforms. Could these suggestions shift users’ own attitudes? (spoiler: YES) (1/7)

Flying home from #CHI2026 and being greeted by a Kuka robot arm at the airport. Das Thema lässt einen nicht los😅
ACM #chi2026 authors: ACM is doing slopcasts for your papers. Just because they don't offer an opt-out doesn't mean you shouldn't protest this surrender to wasteful mediocrity. Feel free to repurpose what I wrote about the slop 'summaries' codeberg.org/mdingemanse/... >

Not into the AI-generated podcast summaries of #chi2026 paper sessions – that authors *cannot* opt out of. But was thinking that perhaps this could make papers more accessible to the general public. Turns out the AI-podcasts are only available to ACM premium members... wtf...
Our Extended Abstract on Source Memory in Online Contexts can now be found here: dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/... I‘ll be at the #CHI2026 poster session on Wednesday to present this initial study; come say hola :)

Another year, another #TeaP2026, another Bluesky post apparently😅 I’ve heard my conference-bag-quote-twin was spotted walking around somewhere, but I didn’t see them🤔
Back from #teap2025 with lots of thoughts, super interesting inputs (thank you all for making the conference ❤️), and a continued appreciation for the puntastic naming of campus westend’s “body of knowledge” statue. Now to take all of this and use it as fuel to do more research 🦾
Looking forward to #psynom24 ! (Maybe this will be my incentive to finally try this social media thing?) Big shoutout to whoever thought of making conference apps a think, as someone who likes making schedules ahead of time, but struggles to find set time: I'm a fan.
Graffiti on toilet wall provides mental health support to students “Even though our university offers lots of support to students, this cold and grubby wall mattered hugely for many students.” #AcademicSky #HigherEd #MentalHealth 🧵
