TLDR: I might not be as hyped on a rewatch but I thoroughly enjoyed #TheOdyssey and find it comparable to Oppenheimer in its overall message. boxd.it/fCCGh7
A ★★★★★ review of The Odyssey (2026)
"Don't look for gods in men. You'll be dissapointed." I'd like to watch it again to solidify my thoughts, but I thought The Odyssey was fantastic. It's not without its flaws and I can appreciate some ...

I genuinely don’t understand how you can watch 4+ films a day on a regular basis without digging yourself an early grave.
Seated for #TheOdyssey finally. Already had words with the person next to me for eating like a fucking goblin.
Tickets booked to see The Hu. Will be my nephew’s first gig. When I asked him what music he liked (other than stuff from WWI…) I thought he meant The Who. Looking forward to some Mongolian throat singing/folk metal in October now.
A Sun had been in my watchlist for so long, wish I’d seen it sooner. A very entertaining but heartbreaking family drama. So good. #LastFourWatched
The new Spider-Man: do I need to have watched any of the other recent Marvel stuff to understand what’s going on or why certain characters are in it?
Coffee and some books I purchased but will probably (definitely) not get round to reading.
Try and live a clean healthy lifestyle by ditching Teflon pans. Fuck up the brand new stainless steel pan on first use. 👍
You know you’re getting old when you spend more money on skincare products than anything else non-essential.

This morning is being powered by black coffee, Militarie Gun and the joy of booking flights to escape this country.
Watching the new He-Man and it’s really unclear who the target audience is meant to be. If it’s meant to be kids AND fans of the 80’s cartoon then it doesn’t work.
Kicking myself for not picking up a near-mint copy of What it is to Burn the other day for £60, because I really want it on vinyl but:
Thought I’d have to sell my Fiddlehead ticket but worked out that I can drive to London in time to watch their entire set, drive back to Bristol to pick my parents up at 2am & then drive them to Heathrow. I should make it back home again by 6am to greet Huck - fuelled by copious amounts of coffee.
Another evening cycle. Lovely calm atmosphere. Made it to this spot from my house in under 17 minutes, which is at least 5 mins quicker than if I’d driven.
Went for a run with my brother this morning, coffee date after, lunch in the city, hour weightlifting, hour of Saros (loving it, but still crap), early dinner soon and then a sunset bike ride around the harbourside.

First glass of wine of the year and a rewatch of one of the coolest films ever made.

Having lived in London for the majority of my life, spending the last 5 days back here reminded me how dangerous it is for my bank account.
This is a cool bit of detail about Ludwig Göransson’s soundtrack for The Odyssey. Albania’s rich history and culture isn’t often in mainstream awareness, not is it well documented in English, so this is nice to see.
Went to view a house in London today which had a shared garden (1 other house). The annual gardening cost (per house): £20,000… Happy to weed it myself, thanks
I’ve been up since 5. Nice cool dog walk, then spent the morning cycling around the city. I’ve had a coffee date, picked up some nice clothes and now I’m going to take a break from Saros and play a bit of Armored Core VI, which is unexpectedly really great so far.
IMAX screenings in Bristol all fully booked for the next two weeks for Odyssey. Should have planned ahead.
Argentina were the better team throughout the second half. Gave them far too much possession in our half, could feel them scoring. A shame, but I still think we were lucky to make the semis.
Reached the first boss in Saros. Got absolutely obliterated. I am not good enough for this. 💀
It's always a strange feeling when someone you never knew personally passes away, yet they were such a big part of your childhood memories. Rest in peace, Sam Neill.
Sunk 3 hours into Saros last night. Headphones on, lights out. So much fun. Visuals are stunning too. I’m crap at it but that’s besides the point.
Very hot 3 hour bike ride. I fear I may have really bad cycling shorts tan line developing.
I own some great Hot Toys, but this may be the best 1/6th scale figure I own. Insane attention to detail & volume of accessories. #Mondo have done an amazing job with this. I love their version which takes inspiration from lots of different variations of Turtles media from the past & present. 🐢
