While in the LOTR movies Denethor just randomly went crazy, that's not the whole story. Denethor became a doomer. He spent all night scrolling through bad news on his magic device, because the Dark Lord only let him see bad news and not good, until he lost all hope and it broke him.

But Gandalf ’s face was grave and sad, and bidding Beregond and Pippin to take Faramir into the Houses of Healing, he went up on to the walls nearby; and there like a figure carven in white he stood in the new sun and looked out. And he beheld with the sight that was given to him all that had befallen; and when E´ omer rode out from the forefront of his battle and stood beside those who lay upon the field, he sighed, and he cast his cloak about him again, and went from the walls. And here I shall still be forced to remain, for I shall soon have other charges, not Faramir only. ‘Now I must go down to meet those who come. I have seen a sight upon the field that is very grievous to my heart, and greater sorrow may yet come to pass. Come with me, Pippin! But you, Beregond, should return to the Citadel and tell the chief of the Guard there what has befallen.

I've said it before but I'll say it again. i despise gender essentialism with kids. this "boy dad" and "girl dad" shit pisses me off. kids are just kids. they aren't inherently different if they're a boy or girl.

I really am so excited for the abc series for 911 and I hate how ungrateful the fandom has been about what they've given to the fans of the show in just two seasons. like it was seriously going downhill with fox bc the network wouldn't let the writers do any of the things they actually wanted to+

s7 ends with athena bonding with a man who's partner had been killed and seeing the way he was able to forgive the man responsible. s8 starts with athena confronting the man who killed her fiance and finding the strength to forgive him.

the reason i don't really love the headcanon of eddie being a trans girl is bc i identify so much with the character and having characters i identify with be feminized feels a bit like I'M being feminized. it's me projecting my own gender disphoria around femininity. which is valid as fuck actually.

Greetings from Geneva, where I’ve been encouraged to meet so many people fighting tuberculosis and other diseases of injustice. I have also been horrified and outraged to learn more about the death and suffering directly caused by the US abandoning human health initiatives. Hard days.

we watched maleficent with my 3 yr old niece a few days ago. this morning she kept asking me "why did the boy steal her wings?" and i honestly struggled to explain it to her. that scene is stuck in her head tho. tbh same girl i don't get it. why do boys do that?

i say this with all the love and respect i can possibly muster, bc i really do enjoy 911 and wanna talk about it, but it's gotta have the stupidest fandom I've ever been a part of. like y'all think you know what's happening but that kinda makes it worse. I'm constantly infuriated.
