This also oft-stated but wrong. The Civil Rights bill JFK abandoned had to be ripped in half, passed separately (CRA of 1964/VRA of 1965) and in the process re-written. The VRA went far beyond the voting rights titles of the 1964 bill, and Fair Housing went far beyond public accommodations. -OS

These issues are not black and white. The Cold War produced a lot of bad things. The United States also produced the only largely cooperative and peaceful Europe that's ever existed and a Japan thats both an economic power and not a menace to its neighbors. -OS

More seriously, if you're Talarico you ignore the attacks and keep it focused on Paxton being a crook. Make the case in as many venues as you can. I'd even go on Fox. Because Ken is never going to debate, and never going to an outlet outside the right wing media world.
I agree that Talarico's crossover support is probably limited when he's a fairly normal guy and the Republican Party is built from the guys who'll click the link for "one simple trick that will allow you to control any woman."

Talarico having a girlfriend who can stand him *is* an attack for the voters Paxton is targeting. Paxton's core of support is people who've googled how to kill their wife and make it look like an accident.
The knives came out for Hidalgo, and though she won in 2022 she didn't exact her revenge. Without Turner a friendly city hall, she and Rodney Ellis became isolated. She accused Adrian Garcia of being a handsy creep, which is probably true, but cost her a majority in the commissioners court.
