Since the last update I have noticed that my HamClock is running really slowly, taking up to 10 minutes to “boot” before it settles. Running on a Pi3B. Some research is due.

Newly learned skill. Arrow cleaning tassels are useful for dusting off fletchings, though they are around £15 to buy. £2.70 for a 100g ball of wool from Tesco, and several “how to” YouTube videos et voila! Not quite as neat as it was newly made a few days ago.

Trudging through the woods, recently, was a bit challenging due to twigs just under the mulch surface. Many of these dug in laces and also down the side of my trainers. A quick look at everybody else and boots seemed a commonality. So, off to the shops. Now breaking in. Went for a shorter height.

Printer arrived, less than 24 hours from ordering. Quick set up on the app, then send to printer, brilliant result. I popped 3 rows per label and printed 4 labels. A quick trim then 1 per arrow.

D’oh, cooler day so went for a bike ride. Alas, Strava didn’t start properly (started then paused after 3 seconds). I didn’t realise until I got to my bench stop, so only recorded 2.42 miles out of a 6.2 mile ride. Police also out looking for the person I passed at the start of the track.

Field archery arrows need to be labelled. Initial & surname is minimum. Club helps with similar names (D. Smith, etc., I expect), & also the order number (1 to 3) which must be visible from all angles. Rings are usual for the numbers. I need ideas for the name label. White on clear would be good.

Just treated myself to a new take down recurve bow, some new carbon arrows, a carry bag, and a quiver. Did contemplate black for the quiver, but a common colour, so opted for the burgundy one (looks more red in the picture). Just over £190 all in, quite a bargain!

Ticking off tasks today. Applied for Mrs KPH’s Blue Badge yesterday and received an email today that it had been approved. Sent her Mounjaro application around 12:00 ish today, and got an email saying it’s at the Chemist. It is sad that some of her medication caused weight gain over the years.

Back in 2025 (all those years ago!) I was invited to do a photo shoot with CUI Wear. It was a good day out, meeting up with Stoma Buddies, and also a massive step into the uncomfortable zone! CUI recently asked me to write a piece, which has now been put on their site. cuiwear.com/blogs/read-t...

Guest Journal: My Life With a Stoma By Phil My journey started back in the mid 80s when I got gastric flu, though this only became clear in recent times. From that time on I always had stomach issues,...

Back, took just over 4 hours to be seen. Lovely Dr. Washed out with saline (hate keeping my eyes open with water), visual inspection (nothing found), dye test ( no scratches). Still had something stuck feeling. Senior checked, thought he’d spotted something, but gone on second look. No doubt 1/n

Currently in A&E, nothing serious. I was trimming a few trees with the chain pole saw so didn’t put my helmet with the visor on as the saw is a good 5 to 6 feet away. All was well until I hit a dead branch which just spray a fine stream of dust in my face. Cleared right eye with Optrex 1/n

Eeek, got to Pizza Express for a treat, as it’s a Tuesday and we didn’t think it’d be busy. Absolutely packed! Told its a 40-60 minute wait for food and I’m currently 4.9 on my sugars! Having to have a full fat Coke to see me through! Sigh, it’s a challenging life sometimes.

New oven installation almost complete. 10 minutes to remove old, 10 minutes to position new, 1 1/2 hours to route cable through holes after tape splice failed! One sliced thumb due to a stamped edge.

Customer service is going downhill rapidly. Followed instructions, in an email, to book the doggy in for her boosters. Picked the day (today), entered a time (11:00), then get an email back saying practice will get back to verify. Still feeling a bit rough, I got up a bit earlier than 1/n
