I build a bunch of Rust stuff from source and was manually updating `rust-version` in Cargo.toml Good opportunity to use plan mode in Claude Code to build a Zig tool that traverses a folder and updates. Fast and even has a `--dry-run` flag. Fun #claudecode
At an advanced age, I've finally taken delivery of a pair of R.M. Williams boots. In addition to the swag I received from a mate this year, I might finally be able to call myself truly Australian 🇦🇺
The continuing errors with @tailscale.com are super annoying. Have reverted to disabling the service and just running from the command line. Argh `failed to unseal encryption key with TPM`
Fun to run ucs-detect locally. Latest published results vs. latest local builds. Jumps from contour, rio, alacritty and st
The more I use the terminal based Chawan browser, the less I appreciate blogs that can't load without all sorts of React & JavaScript fuckery. A case in point from the Hacker News front page today - shafi.ddns.net/blog/customi.... Boo

I'm pretty good at wrangling through a Linux file system, but I cannot for the life of me fix the report of an old NPM based Claude Code. Argh github.com/anthropics/c... github.com/anthropics/c...
Trying to work out if referring to Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Factory Droid, OpenCode, AmpCode as "harnesses" is going to confuse a somewhat technical, but more senior exec audience. I think it'll confuse them & am leaning towards "coding agent". Paging @simonwillison.net
Bummed that the AI coding community hasn't moved here. The news is all still on X
Zig 0.15.2 rollout has been a roller coaster. Released, withdrawn, re-released, mistaken breaking changes and still no release notes. flow and ghostty have updated to allow building at least
Noticed the cgroup initialization wasn't working on Ghostty for Linux since the move to Zig 0.15.1. Jumped on Discord, Mitchell provided a tip on where to look, Claude Code had a go and fixed it and a senior maintainer reviewed and PR created. Nice
Anyone know how to invoke the fancy new TUI animation that just landed in OpenAI codex? github.com/openai/codex...

11 days since Statsig announced it was being acquired by OpenAI and Anthropic's Claude Code still sends its metrics to Statsig
I'm not a front end person by any stretch of the imagination, but my take away from this, is to run away from anything to do with React as quickly as possible
styled-components maintenance mode doesn't have to mean panic mode. Our engineer @codey.bsky.social made performant community forks. Linear's already seeing 40% faster renders with zero code changes. Not a permanent fix, but it buys you time to migrate properly. www.sanity.io/blog/cut-sty...

Very slow #ziglang rollout. Release notes at ziglang.org/download/0.1... went up yesterday. Bits still not on a release at github.com/ziglang/zig/... + no post release master branch bits at ziglang.org/download/. You can download at ziglang.org/download/#re... but these were 404 for all of yesterday

Ridiculous that a zero day vulnerability patch for MacOS requires a 1.56GB download
Used Claude Code to add a pause animation button to the glTF Viewer. The JavaScript on pierre.co is incredibly complex and I couldn't find a way to pause the animation like they do. Fun

Engrosed in the chawan terminal TUI browser. Very cool. I have images on, JavaScript off and I've worked out my Foot terminal config to use Berkeley Mono as the default font with Maple Mono as the italic font. I'm a big Ghostty fan but am finding better rendering with Foot for Chawan use
Very funny how Aussie this podcast is. Strong accents and 🇦🇺 slang in the episode titles. Who knows what a servo is?
I'm really enjoying 3 body problem. But the lack of consistency of the logo is annoying. So the circles overlap or touch?
