On a related note, 3 months of consecutive heatwaves ruined my plan to finish my Fallout 4 combat armor during the summer... Only a few weeks left 😭
Tickets to Paris Games Week seeing a €5 increase wasn't on my bingo for 2026... 😐
Just got promoted... To more responsibilities as an intern. UX, Product, Accessibility specialist, I got it all. Y'all enjoy Gamescom, I'll just be here in the corner crying. (I'm excited to learn product design, just very tired and very minimum wage.)
Episode 10 is live wherever you get your podcasts and also on our YouTube channel! Join our cast as they begin to uncover some dark secrets and learn that elements of the past weren't as hunky dory as they might have learned back in Vault 76 (not that they thought they were either way.)

No pun intended at all, but watching a blind player play a Zelda game by entirely relying on sound has been a very eye-opening experience as a UX designer who isn't even in the gaming industry. 1 highlight: he could tell he was blocked by something when Link played the "pushing objects" sound (1/2)
I got this super fancy new (= 80-90 years old) hat and nobody to brag to, so here you go Bsky. 🤷♀️ #1950sfashion is life
Did I just store my whole CAMP by mistake again? The exact one I was still rebuilding? Yuuup. There's a game UX lesson here in Destructive Actions 101. If your game sees a player is about to store a whole bunch of items at once, which is definitely unusual behavior, maybe ask for confirmation.
Did I scrap my whole camp by accident instead of just 1 element AGAIN last night? Yup... UX/UI has improved a hell lot in Fallout 76 lately, but this... Thiiiis drives me crazy. The game should ask for confirmation when it detects you're about to store 80% of your camp in just one click. 😂
Either Figma has built-in Flow, or it's highly compatible with how my brain works. Never been as focused as this week with all the wireframing, except maybe when I was learning 2000 kanjis by filling pages and pages, some 20 years ago. Yay!
Putting some Metallica & a variety of rock songs in today's work playlist with a thought for @maverickcw.bsky.social 🤘 Wireframing, but with headbangs lol.
Received my copy of Digital Accessibility Ethics. Excited to dive in and hoping it will help me improve my understanding and practice of digital accessibility. Fun fact for folks who followed me for Division/gaming reasons, this has a chapter written by an accessibility expert at Ubisoft. #a11y
This thing is my lifeline right now. Been in heatwave state since end of May. Zinc roof right above us, 200 y-o building: walls keep heat inside, as per design. 30-40 degrees (90-105 eagle units) almost daily for three months in this context is absolute madness. With AC, we're at 27ºC.
Venti rant alert. I am the ultimate ball of stress thanks to my mentor messing up and school administration blaming me for their mistake... Why does it always have to be like that? School 15+ years ago already lost my exam results and never acknowledged it. Own your fudging mistakes, already! 🤬

Neurodivergence and tutorials, name a worst duo. (Another reason I became a UX designer. I write the tutorials. They're quite fail proof - not entirely, but quite.)

*SIGH* Because they haven't done enough damage yet...! I have better things to do in my life than check literally EVERY SINGLE IMAGE for synthID. Like, enjoying fresh water not being wasted for this shit.
New from 404 Media: Google Earth has introduced an AI feature that lets anyone fabricate completely bullshit satellite images. In our own tests, we added a “bomb blast and crater” to an area of Los Angeles. This is a misinformation time bomb, will 100% be abused www.404media.co/google-earth...
Almost booted Fallout 76 (game) instead of Figma (design software), and this tells you all there is to know about this school day.
Europe reacting with one voice should tell FIFA something... That is, if it weren't corrupted beyond saving.

This is so extremely depressing, and it needs to be read, and shared widely.
For seven years, I've had the privilege of reporting on accessibility and the disabled perspective. And now, during my seventh Disability Pride Month in this industry, I'm left wondering if this beat is coming to an end. Read my first @skyboxcritics.com piece here: skyboxcritics.com/2026/07/28/t...
Explaining accessibility to someone who sells AI-made websites... "But AI tools can do that, right? 🥹" No my dude, the data sets are made of websites filled with accessibility errors. AI can't do shit if you, the maker, don't know the rules (WCAG), and to understand the rules you need to know HTML!
One year of dressing vintage. And I don't mean retro fast fashion. I mean "spend time fixing 40s and 50s clothes to keep them for 20 more years" vintage. Zero harm done to the planet. Zero made in China BS. Zero support for brands with values I don't align with. And a lot more happiness.
In other news, I got to try Figma Make at work, and if you seriously believe it will ever replace UX designers, you don't understand the job of UX designers. But it's cool to have to write a prompt for 40 minutes to get one page of semi-decent wireframe. After all, who needs water, right? 🤷♀️
I know I should be excited by all the news from Bethesda, but it's hard to be excited about anything with the current game industry actively being destroyed by people who don't understand basic things such as "AI can only poorly duplicate the existing" and "workers are actual human beings".
