Been wondering, are there any good pre-bunking or debunking resources for virus denial? Had a family member get sucked in by "Virus Mania" and the work of the Bailey's, it is too late for him unfortunately, we no longer talk.
Computer that was booted into Windows hung while gaming and broke the video card drivers. Windows is a toy operating system for games, and it struggles to do that effectively.
For some reason I am wanting to listen to music by Have A Nice Life and Mamaleek a lot recently. The HANL track Earthmover is fucking awesome every time I listen to it.
Here is some real professional work, that power supply is held on by hard drive magnets. I do have a real power supply on the way, fortunately.
Been moving one of my servers into a different case, it still works after too
Thought I should finally set my profile image, I usually use my praying mantis image, but its been over a decade, time for a change. This is Merlin, he is a Senegal parrot, and he is a good boy
Reusing an old Apple SSD, 512 GB over two lanes of PCIe gen 2
Playing a very old game on the train, Total Annihilation seems to run quite well
Bought a 512GB Samsung OEM SSD from AliExpress, installed it in a Broadwell Xeon system, fwupdmgr notified me that I have a Dell firmware upgrade for the SSD available from LVFS. Installed it, works perfectly still.
Bought a thing I probably don't need for reasons that are still unclear to me, but it does appear to work
09. when things got heavy, she sought control, by buying antiques ‐ it lightened her soul. #inktober #inktober2025 #inktober2025day9 #inktober2025heavy
Might be trying playing Silksong on my laptop on the train, I am new to this genre of games and I hear it is brutally hard, should be interesting
Something I think I see a lot in what I assume is AI generated twatwaffle is constructions like "it's not (just) _____, it's ______". Not sure if it's actually meaningful or if I am seeing a pattern that doesn't exist because I am already biased against the AI generated crap.
Rebooting (sometimes several times) to apply updates is fucking obnoxious. I want to actually use my computer, not watch it update itself.
Made myself a WiFi to Ethernet bridge using OpenWrt and EoIP talking to a RouterOS device, seems to function at the very least.
Have generated a new minecraft world using Terralith and Tectonic.
Was going to use one of my home servers to render a 40000 by 40000 block Minecraft map using Minecraft Overviewer, was going to take 36 hours, and made the server use 280 watts with a processor temp of 78 deg C. Think I won't be letting that complete.

Apparently SR-IOV does not work though those PCIe switches used to attach multiple NVME drives when your motherboard does not support bifurcation. The motherboard NVME slot worked fine.
Elon Musk is a good example of how terrible people become increasingly radicalized into the far right simply because the far right is a community that accepts cruel, terrible people. It's tempting to say Elon is going "mask off", but I'd wager Elon didn't know who Tommy Robinson was 5 years ago. 1/
