Hillbilly Scientist running to represent NC-11. There’s a cancer running through Washington, D.C., and I’m running to cure it. https://linktr.ee/maddoxfornc

On my way into Burnsville, this paint-splattered Trump sign has sat unfixed since April. It says what many in NC-11 feel: frustration and a need for bold change. Families are tired of inaction on Helene recovery, healthcare, & affordability. They are tired of feeling abandoned.

As a scientist, I've spent my career asking questions. I’m all too familiar with cells telling me no or a committee saying my proposal isn’t good enough. I've invented instruments and changed approaches to get answers. I will bring that same approach to Congress. #NC11 #NCPol

Another life has been lost at the hands of Trump’s masked agents. Their violence is unacceptable and un-American. Our leaders must put an end to ICE’s reign of terror and its cruelty.

At Montreat College in 1964, MLK was met by 2,500 Western North Carolinians who came to hear his sermon on Civil Rights and the Church’s role in war. He was also met by law enforcement and death threats. This visit marked an important moment in the Civil Rights Movement.

Thanks, everyone, for an incredible first day on the campaign trail! I'm not new to fighting for Western North Carolina, but I *am* new to running for office -- and I can't tell you how much I appreciate your outpouring of support. Onward! #NC11
