@vinsyn.bsky.social is releasing The First Deadly Sin, which features Frank Sinatra in his last starring role. I provide a commentary, and was thrilled to talk about the older Sinatra and this era of his career. Yes, I shoehorned in his Magnum PI ep. Order here: vinegarsyndrome.com/products/the...

Here's what's coming from VS. I produced the extras for Disappearance, a really neat late entry basic cable horror film and the 90s classic Death of a Cheerleader. Check out the specs on VS's website! So. Excited.
August line-up is 🔥JUST🔥THAT🔥HOT🔥 VS brings ICE CREAM MAN, OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN, and BLOODY PSYCHO. VSA's got FACES OF DEATH III, and VSL presents THE FIRST DEADLY SIN. Finally, Iconoscope's got DEATH OF A CHEERLEADER + THE DISAPPEARANCE! 🏖️ Check them all out at the Vinegar Syndrome site! 🏖️
Two Iconoscope announcements coming today. I worked on both releases, and these will be my first producing credits. :) Very excited... and stay tuned...
3 new VS titles dropping August 1st @ 12:01pm! PLUS one new VSL, one new VSA, and TWO new Iconoscope announcements. What's your dream line-up look like?
Never thought I'd see something like this, but here you go. This is for a future Iconoscope release, hopefully being announced later this year! So. Excited.
It's just another Mandan Monday. (with a little Jamie Farr thrown in because it couldn't hurt)
Happy Heavenly 103rd Birthday to the great Estelle Getty, Emmy-winning actress, comedian, and all-time firecracker, who was #BOTD on 7/25/1923. Beloved for her role as the sassy Sophia Petrillo on THE GOLDEN GIRLS (1985-1992), as well as roles in MASK, MANNEQUIN, EMPTY NEST, and much more.
Has everybody seen the amazing Ladies of the 80s collection at Julien's Auction. Fans of vintage TV will enjoy this beautifully curated collection. My friend Ben Sher put this together, and I wish I had more money... www.juliensauctions.com/en/auctions/...
For Emmy Consideration... Such a powerhouse of a performance by Robert Reed, and I love this ad that appeared in the trades. It's too bad he wasn't nominated for this.
Iconoscope will be announcing their next two releases in about a week. I was pretty stoked (yes, stoked!) to be asked to produce some extras. Can't wait to share the titles with everyone!
I don't care how they Deliver it... I want to see EVERY made for TV movie... It's a goal.
Hal Linden and Barbara Eden in a promotional photo for their 1976 made for TV Movie How to Break Up a Happy Divorce. Perfect people.
David Bowie, 2002, by Frank Ockenfels 3. Taken from Frank’s excellent book which was published late last year, called ‘Collaboration: Frank Ockenfels 3 X David Bowie’. Lots of previously unseen shots, I highly recommend it.
I can't remember a time when I didn't love Hal Williams, but my god, his cameo in Hardcore as Big Dick Blaque is the greatest moment in film history. RIP
Like a lot of us, I grew up in a cultural wasteland, and a total outsider when it came to music. 120 Minutes made me feel like I was part of an uber-cool community, where music equaled adventure. New discoveries every week that helped me grow and led me to where I am today. RIP
120 MINUTES was an absolute oasis in pre-internet pop culture. So many bands that you could ONLY find there (TV-wise) became ubiquitous online later (and relatively recently). A pioneer. consequence.net/2026/07/dave...

R.I.P. Sam Neill. Seen here as Soviet officer Colonel Andrei Denisov in AMERIKA (ABC, 1987).
RIP Randolph Mantooth. I was a HUGE fan of "Emergency!" Then in 2002, our neighbor at our 1st house, in Hollywoodland, was... Randy! I dogsat his dog Dodger, he helped me landscape, and we hosted him & his wife Kristen on BBQ nights. A true mensch, even kinder than "John Gage."
RIP Randolph Mantooth I came into Emergency a little late in life, but fell so hard for Johnny and Roy. I really loved him on this Love Boat episode with Robert Mandan. It was Mandan vs Mantooth, and it was sublime. I adore them both. So sad.
RIP Louise Lasser. A unique and quirky talent who always delighted, especially in the small screen proto-slasher Isn't it Shocking.
At its core, One Life to Live was a soap. It had all of its high drama, crazy cat fights and hot romance. It was true to all of that, but it was also incredibly self-aware and never seemed afraid to push boundaries or poke fun at itself. This is why it endures and why so many still love (& miss) it

Looking at a collection of theoretical approaches and analysis for slasher films and not one thing about the "male victim." I know there have been small-ish studies, but this feels like a really big gap. This and adult victims. Am I wrong?
The "Singles" soundtrack somehow turns 34 years old today. I always go back to Paul Westerberg's "Waiting for Somebody," which captures that inimitable spirit of youthful romantic optimism -- which may or may not be the result of youthful romantic foibles. youtu.be/l2vnAWfGPtc?...

JEALOUSY: Now on Tubi is that 1984 made-for-TV anthology movie where Angie Dickinson pulls a Karen Black in TRILOGY OF TERROR, except now the genre is drama (with a bit of suspense and comedy thrown in). Dickinson plays the lead in these three equally entertaining stories centered around jealousy.
New contributor copies are here! ❤️ Still pinching myself that I get to do these things!
