Happy Heavenly 103rd Birthday to the great Estelle Getty, Emmy-winning actress, comedian, and all-time firecracker, who was #BOTD on 7/25/1923. Beloved for her role as the sassy Sophia Petrillo on THE GOLDEN GIRLS (1985-1992), as well as roles in MASK, MANNEQUIN, EMPTY NEST, and much more.

David Bowie, 2002, by Frank Ockenfels 3. Taken from Frank’s excellent book which was published late last year, called ‘Collaboration: Frank Ockenfels 3 X David Bowie’. Lots of previously unseen shots, I highly recommend it.

Like a lot of us, I grew up in a cultural wasteland, and a total outsider when it came to music. 120 Minutes made me feel like I was part of an uber-cool community, where music equaled adventure. New discoveries every week that helped me grow and led me to where I am today. RIP

120 MINUTES was an absolute oasis in pre-internet pop culture. So many bands that you could ONLY find there (TV-wise) became ubiquitous online later (and relatively recently). A pioneer. consequence.net/2026/07/dave...

RIP Randolph Mantooth. I was a HUGE fan of "Emergency!" Then in 2002, our neighbor at our 1st house, in Hollywoodland, was... Randy! I dogsat his dog Dodger, he helped me landscape, and we hosted him & his wife Kristen on BBQ nights. A true mensch, even kinder than "John Gage."

RIP Randolph Mantooth I came into Emergency a little late in life, but fell so hard for Johnny and Roy. I really loved him on this Love Boat episode with Robert Mandan. It was Mandan vs Mantooth, and it was sublime. I adore them both. So sad.

Looking at a collection of theoretical approaches and analysis for slasher films and not one thing about the "male victim." I know there have been small-ish studies, but this feels like a really big gap. This and adult victims. Am I wrong?

JEALOUSY: Now on Tubi is that 1984 made-for-TV anthology movie where Angie Dickinson pulls a Karen Black in TRILOGY OF TERROR, except now the genre is drama (with a bit of suspense and comedy thrown in). Dickinson plays the lead in these three equally entertaining stories centered around jealousy.

A black and white paper ad for Jealousy when it was an ABC Monday Night Movie
