Grassley asking questions about the Jack Smith investigation is just bizarre. Even Blanche has to say “I was defence counsel in that matter and it would be inappropriate for me to engage with that.” FFS.
Pretty grating that Grassley gave an 18-minute opening prebuttal of potential criticisms. Then diverts to Jack Smith, which has nothing to do with Blanche’s confirmation. Then Durbin engages with the Smith issue, rather than diving straight into “Why the fuck is Ghislaine Maxwell at Club Fed?”
