Lovely to read my ‘Memorial Gardens’ #haiku sequence (from my new collection ‘Wishing Tree Note’) in situ yesterday, at the annual Francis Ledwidge day, organised by Liam O’Meara & to hear other’s poems & songs. Here’s Ledwidge’s poem ‘August’, which the choir Anúna adapted musically in the 1990s.

On holidays with friends & family members abroad (and enjoying them very much so far)! 😎
Another beautiful bird haiku is up online at THF today. This one is by Meera Rehm. It’s my second time choosing it, as I had already selected it (anonymously) as a first prize-winner in the 2025 BHS Haiku Competition 🌟 thehaikufoundation.org @haikufound.bsky.social @britishhaiku.bsky.social

I had a lovely short break in South County #Tipperary this week, with my friend Eimear. One of the things we did was to check out a new sauna place in Cashel, with this view from the sauna hut! 😍They’re at www.rockviewsauna.ie, if you’re in the area and would like to pay a visit. Recommended!

Delighted to share that I’ll be a guest on tomorrow (Sun) evening’s Poetry People programme with @rachaelhegarty.bsky.social. It’s on @rteradio1.bsky.social at 7pm. Since it’s #midsummer & #fathersday, I’ll read some #haiku & #senryu on those themes from my brand new collection ‘Wishing Tree Note’
We had a great launch of ‘Wishing Tree Note’ last Thurs in #Dublin. Kim R. from Alba was there & @gagebybell.bsky.social gave a wonderful launch speech 🙏🏻 The book is available to order on my website, maeveosullivan.com. 20% of all sales now go to the Dublin Simon Community, a homeless charity.
One view of a postbox & PO in the town of Borris, and three of a postbox in the village of St. Mullins, both taken last weekend in the county of #Carlow (Ireland). #PostboxSaturday
Fewer sleeps now! My website has been updated. Some #haiku sequences from ‘Wishing Tree Note’ are in there now, along with a facility to order copies. Also other work (poems, haibun, essays & features), plus some info on my workshops and mentoring. Why don’t you swing by? www.maeveosullivan.com

Very much looking forward to launching this lovely collection 💖

After two recent (and most enjoyable) double launches in #Dublin by west of Ireland publishers @doirepress.bsky.social and @salmonpoetry.bsky.social, my #poetry reading for the next while is sorted! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I enjoyed leading a sold-out #haiku #workshop this afternoon @ilfdublin.bsky.social. I had a lovely group and we were very lucky with the timing of our ginko (walk) around Merrion Square, i.e. in between showers!
This postbox sits in the #Dublin suburb of Rathmines, where I work. It’s another previously red (UK) one that was painted over. I like the little note that someone has stuck onto the aperture. ❤️ #PostboxSaturday
I’m a day late for #PostboxSaturday. This one is from the seaside town of Bray, Co Wicklow, now disused, by the looks of things. 😢

So I wrote a #haiku on Sunday, submitted it (and one other) to the Autumn Moon journal on Monday and got an acceptance for it today. Not a bad turnaround! I won’t share it here, but it’s about these Douglas irises, which are abundant in my (balcony) garden at the moment

Bun wants some stickers for her laptop. And coffee.
We have recently catalogued two notable rare books by #BrendanBehan. 📚 The first is a limited, signed edition of The Hostage (New York: Grove Press, 1958). The second is a proof copy, printed on proofing paper, of Borstal Boy (London: Hutchinson, 1958).
Happy #PostboxSaturday from the northside of inner city #Dublin, where this one has got a new lick of paint. The location is North Great George’s Street, and you can see the distinctive and well-preserved Georgian buildings with their fan windows.
There was some fine #poetry last night @The Teachers’ Club in #Dublin with a double launch @doirepress.bsky.social: Moyra Donaldson’s, launched by @maryodonnell.bsky.social & Nithy Kasa’s by Fiona Bolger, with fab covers @triona.bsky.social. Nice to see @eatthestorms.com @rachaelhegarty.bsky.social
